I was in a small cohort and most of us worked full time the first 1-2 years. However, I worked three 12 hours shifts so I had plenty of time to get school work done. I know a few of the other peeps who had typical 9-5 jobs did have to go down to part time a little sooner.

I am currently in the PNP program. If you are in the Tucson or Phoenix area, the program will set you up with a site, but I have heard from students who use those sites that they are not the best experiences. If you are out of state, you are completely on your own finding sites. They may give you a few leads but it’s up to you to call and find a preceptor. They give you absolutely zero resources. So start early and if you have contacts, even better. Start early and get those places contracted with the school. The first year I worked full time but once I started clinicals I had to go part time. It’s not feasible to work full time and go school. Get to know the other students in your cohort because that’s who is going to help you the most throughout this program. Hope that was helpful and good luck in the program!
