  1. Hello all, I am applying for the accelerated BSN for Summer 2021, any advice? applications opened up this month and I'm super nervous. Didn't do so hot my first two years of school and really made a turn towards the end but still ended up with a GPA of 2.8, worried it may not be competitive enough despite my hospital work history....
  2. Finally going back to school this fall to finish working on my bachelors in biomedical sciences, I was set to graduate in December of 2017 but due to some unfortunate events I had to drop out my last semester and hold off for 3 years to return. Throughout my whole college career I had to deal with hopping from place to place for shelter and had to work extensive hours to pay for schooling and basic life necessities. Because of this my grades were compromised and now I'm embarrassed to say I'm sitting right at a 2.49 GPA overall and a 2.89 science GPA. I was fortunate to be able to land a job at my local hospital and now have 3 years of direct patient care experience under my belt. I am now at a point in my life where I am stable and can finally continue on with my education. I'm planning on retaking 2 classes and 2 other classes needed as a prereq for the nursing program I'm applying to. I don't believe with my GPA I would be competitive enough to be accepted into a ABSN program so I'm opting for an ADN program at a local community college. I'm hoping by retaking the courses it will make a bit of a difference. I will be taking my TEAS at the end of the month and feel good about it but still nervous about where I stand and if I even stand a chance. I'm probably thinking way ahead of myself since I haven't even reached the first milestone, but after finishing my ADN I was thinking about looking into the RN-MSN route. Does anyone have any advice to give? I'm located in TX. Thank you in advance....
