  1. I think you should appeal. I got a 94 on my TEAS and one B in pre reqs for a 3.8. And I got in. I gave up my spot tho. But still
  2. I am going to be giving up my spot at SJSU for CSULB. Good luck to the 15 people on the waitlist.
  3. Hey Guys, I got my letter. But the orientation date is way wrong. I'm worried they might have sent out acceptances incorrectly. And I actually didn't get in. For reference Science GPA 3.7 Non science GPA 4.0 TEAS 94 Reading TEAS 91
  4. Out of curiosity, do you know what your impaction score for Long Beach is.
  5. Did not get in. For reference I had a 3.8, 94% TEAS, Bilingual, Non local
  6. kinda getting worried. I still did not get an email and the exercise is in two days.
  7. I've heard of people who get in without going to the communication exercise. The people I know who didn't go to the exercise had really high impaction scores like you. So maybe they don't invite people that for sure are going to get in.
  8. Would you mind letting us know what year you were admitted to.
  9. Hey, when you submit your documents like your driver's license or birth certificate. Do you just take a picture of it and submit. Or are you guys getting like a xerox copy from a copier machine.
  10. Hey I was wondering if you could share your stats for getting in. I am applying for Fall 2021 and am just kind anxious.
  11. Hey does anyone know if we have to pay an application fee. I submitted my application. But didn't see or read anything saying we had to pay a fee. Which is kinda weird because most other nursing programs have a fee.
  12. Yea it sounds super confusing. But from what I understood. It seems like they are using a different system from GPA + (TEAS/30). And with the old system, you would get a score ranging from 6-7. But now they are using a "new model" which gets you a score ranging in the 90s. So basically we have no clue how they are calculating impaction besides that the GPA is 2/3 of the score while the TEAS is 1/3 of the score.
  13. She said with the statistician they now don't use that model. And instead of in the range of 5-7. They use a different method that brings scores into the 90s.
  14. Just so everyone knows, at the advising session. They confirmed that the way that impaction score is calculated is not GPA + (TEAS/30). They actually apparently have no idea how the score is calculated.
  15. Hey guys I was about to submit my nursing application when I noticed this. It says, "Courses count as the SJSU equivalent unit disbursement, regardless of where the course was taken. The applicant's scores are calculated as noted on student's transcripts." Does this mean that if I took a 5 unit Chemistry class it only counts as three units when calculating my GPA since SJSU only has a 3 unit Chemistry class. Kinda worried because this changes my impaction score and I can't find this information anywhere besides on the nursingcas application.
  16. Does anyone know if it is OK to just take a picture of our seal of bi literacy on our high school degree for proof of being bilingual. Or is that not allowed.
  17. Hey does anyone know how to send the proof of bilingual status. I'm using the three years of high school. Are we just supposed to send our high school transcripts to CSUSB. Or do we need to take a picture of our transcript and upload it to our nursing application ?
  18. https://drive.Google.com/file/d/12mrH5z4UqZSCfRuII-chgdSdcimWqTDX/view That's from the Dec 2020 information session. On slide 36 it says how they are doing the impaction.
  19. Hey does anyone know for sure how the impaction score is being calculated. I know Big 8 GPA + (TEAS/30) is how they have done it before. But in the nursing informational slides, they state that they are making it so GPA is 2/3 and TEAS Scores are 1/3.
  20. From what I have been told. They simply do not use that class when calculating GPA. So your Big 8 is now a Big 7 basically.
  21. I used the study book that you can buy on the ATI TEAS website. I felt that helped me a lot. Since there is not as much prep for the TEAS online as the SAT, I used some SAT prep for the reading and writing sections from Khan Academy whenever I needed extra practice. And there is also this app called Pocket Prep, I think, that is really good for when you are doing nothing.
  22. Hello everyone, Big 8 GPA: 3.81 TEAS: 92% Might have a huge problem. I took the TEAS online in August 2020 and got a 92 since no places were open for in person. However, it looks like they aren't going to accept my TEAS score. So I am going to retake it on the 17th and pray I get a 92 or better. SJSU and CSULB are my dream options and I would hate to lose out on SJSU because of a stupid online test technicality.
  23. Hey I'm also a CSULB potential trasnfer. I was wondering what you did for the Chemistry Pre Req since Chem 140 doesn't trasnfer to SJSU.
  24. Hi I am a pre nursing student at CSULB and wanted to keep my options open by applying at different schools. If I cannot get into CSULB, SJSU is my second choice and would love to go there. I was looking at the pre reqs for SJSU and they all align perfectly with CSULB's nursing program. However the big problem is that the Chem 30A pre req at SJSU has no equivalent at CSULB. The Chem pre req at CSULB is Chem 140 which apparently is not acceptable. I've written tons of emails but I get no answer from SJSU. Would that mean it is impossible for a student from CSULB to transfer to SJSU. I really hope this isn't the case as that would be extremely heart breaking to hear.
