Wow, on campus was very popular this cycle!

I was accepted for AO, I had priority ranking and do not know which location I will get yet.

Today is the day everyone, good luck and I hope it all works out for all of us!

I am glad in a small way that notifications are going to go out the day before Spring break. I'm a teacher and it will be good for me to have a week off to be depressed and sulk if I receive a denial. A waitlist email would be bittersweet because you aren't a definite no, but you aren't accepted yet so you can't make any definite plans. So while you still have a chance, you are suspended in worry for months. I just keep reminding myself, I will just reapply again until I am accepted.

I called as soon as storm was over and they said they have their heart set on 3/5 and are all committed to sending out notifications tomorrow. So at least that's a relief, unfortunately the stress and anxiety are starting to heighten. I just wish we knew how many applicants they had in total so at least mathematically I knew what the odds were.

@dallasdogmom and @Alycia thank you for the clarification. It is a small number, but it is also a pilot program. They have never had an accelerated 15 month on campus program so it makes sense that it would be small, plus there may be some Covid restrictions. I would be devastated, I am already worried enough about the priority ranking competition alone. And of course am counting down the day's until Friday.

@Alycia Also, sorry, I don’t mean anything by my reaction, it’s just shocking to hear.

32 spots for AO BSN? WOW!? How? There’s like 6 regions? That would be a whole lot of applicants for a very small number of spots. What forum did you read this on? Wow-that shook me.

So who else is waiting to see if they got accepted to the AO online program?

@chrstec I think they are still working through apps. I feel like this week there will be lots of changes since next Friday is the deadline. I also received a response to a question from immunizations late last night to an email I had sent weeks ago. I replied and they replied right back so someone was working on a Saturday. I am so excited that we have 12 days to go, either way it goes I'm ready!

@chrstec I was told people would be notified by 3/5, hopefully that date doesn't change based on the weather this week. What do you mean by the two courses you are in are updated? I looked at my degree plan but I didn't see anything different from a few days ago, I have had all my classes completed since December. It looks like they are also putting partnered organizations on applications as well as location preferences too. I am also not partnered though so not sure what happened there, maybe because my last name is towards the end of the alphabet they haven't gotten to me just yet.

I was just thinking the same thing-I’ve been counting down the days! I also wonder how much of their work has been done on campus? Maybe they’ve been working from home too this whole time so hopefully it won’t impact us being notified ?.

I agree, you should be fine! I’m at an 8.35 w previous bachelor’s consideration and priority ranking for the AO program. I would have gone for on campus but I was scared they would cancel it like they did last year and I didn’t want to get rolled over into a 2 year on campus program. I also think in person would be great, wonder if it’s too late to change it now? I’m sure the AO scores are crazy-so I hope I have a chance!

@Alycia You’re absolutely right! I’ve read stats all across the board so I would stay hopeful and also your score seems competitive to me! I am also nervous about some of the scores. I also don’t feel as competitive as others, but in 20 days I’ll find out if I’m part of the fall cohort or not!

I also noticed many of us are applying but are applying for different programs. I am applying for the AO damn start and many are applying for the accelerated on campus program that starts in May. From what I’ve heard the on campus program scores are considered competitive in the 7.0 and above range. I am not sure what a competitive score I’m actually is for the AO program would be?

Not sure, but I know that they compete against the people who are at the same hospital. I don’t know if each hospital has the same number of spots or if they all get filled every cycle or where that leaves those with priority ranking? I mean every cycle I hear about both partnered and non-partnered being admitted so who knows how many partnered spots they have to fill? She did say they have 180 spots though. Different hospitals also seem to have different preferences (like wanting students with prior bachelor degree) so that also would have to do with who is chosen in sure. And now that they created the priority ranking group I’m very curious as to how it will all turn out.

I called Thursday to follow up on a question and I was told they’re not even halfway through applications. I have no idea what that means, I did ask if they knew how many applicants they had and of course they said no, which is odd because how would this person know they’re not halfway through all the apps if you don’t know how many apps there are? Man there are so many people that are partnered, I wonder how many partnered people don’t get in every cycle? I’m glad I have priority ranking so I have at least a chance this cycle.

@shrugsoup same here regarding points and considerations, I have priority ranking but I am unfortunately not partnered.

Hi everyone, How many of you guys are partnered, have priority ranking or both? Just curious.

I didn't know Texas State had an accelerated program, the only other accelerated program that is similar to UTA is TTU.

I have had to mute the GM too, so many redundant questions that students should already know the answers to before applying. I am going to guess there is likely about 5-600 hundred applicants based on the number of applicants in the previous cohorts. I really don't like that they make it so secretive, I mean the application deadline is over so they obviously know.

Has anyone here applied in the past or is this your first time? Also it is pretty quiet on this forum compared to other application cycles, maybe that's a good thing?
