  1. Yes. I took the written test still, but they waived my road test.
  2. Ah thank you. My company told me that Canadian car is good with Canadian plate for one year. So at least this year I’m okay. I’ll get a chance to go to border service at the end of this year to get all those forms. They do have all these forms at border service right?
  3. Can anyone answer this question for me? I am on a 3 year contract working in US as travel nurse from Canada. I have TN visa. When I crossed border, no one ever asked me about my car’s information, no form required me to fill. When I tried to register my car in Nebraska where I need to stay for one year working in hospital, they asked me to have a CBP form, ETA and DOT form to register my car. Because those are what required if you ate importing a car from foreign country. Nebraska DMV requires non resident to register their car if they stay more than 30 days. we don’t use “Title” in Canada. Plus, as it says online, Canadian cars are good for up to one year in US with a Canadian plate as many Canadians are Snowbirds. So, what should I do? Drive thousands miles back to Border to get the form filled?
  4. That program sounds awesome! Ah why don’t we have this here? Alberta’s economy is going downhill recent years. Too bad. Good luck in your new job! Keep in touch if you want to go to US someday!
  5. Wow lucky for you! Which province do you live? I don’t think we have this initiative program in Alberta. So are you still planning to go to US in a few years?
  6. Hi Kashima How are you doing? Have you found a job? I am going to States in January. Just waiting for my docs to be mailed to me.
  7. Ah that’s good! You know much better than me. I started in long term care, it’s good. But I just want to move to somewhere warmer and get more various experience. If you decide to go to US, start contacting now and start applying now, as we all need employers sponsorship to get there. And god knows how long it’s gonna take especially under COVID. I’ll update you about my progress and don’t hesitate to ask if you have any news to share!
  8. I know! It’s hard to find jobs everywhere! Another good choice is to search in northern part like Yukon or Nunavut, where aboriginal communities need nurses. If you don’t mind the coldness, they provide very good benefits and hourly rates. They are also willing to accept new graduates. Just don’t be too picky when you are still a new graduate. Whether a job is good or not can only be determined by you after experiencing it yourself.
  9. Hi there, I suggest you find a job first, regardless of what position, get into door first and save money because this application process is gonna be at least 3 months and it costs money. If there’s no good opportunities in your Province, try other provinces. I have signed the contract for their 3 year Bridge program to transfer myself from long term care to acute care settings because I found it’s so hard to do so in Canada. If you want to work in US, you’d better start Visa Screen application as soon as possible because I am still in the process of getting Visa Screen, which is a must to go to US. I started submitting my docs from July, but since my university was closed because of CoVID, I had to wait till the end of September to get the required form filled by dean and mailed out. It takes quite a long time to get these thing done. I knew a girl who had started working since August as she had been in US already. she said it was pretty good. It’s a rural hospital, she can always get overtime.
  10. Hey Moe2 I don’t know why I can’t sent message. Have you started your visa process? I decided to sign with them as it’s really hard to transfer directly from LTC to acute in Canada. Are you from US or Canada? If you have facebook or WhatsApp, we can exchange info. My phone is (780)2678844
  11. I am in the same position as you. I started my career as LTC nurse but I feel I need acute care experience. I contacted them and received the contract, but I really don’t know if this program is good and if I should sign the contract. Can you update about your experience?
