I was accepted and did have some volunteer experience in a hospital and nonprofit health clinic. But you have a great GPA and TEAS score so if you do really well on your interview, I think you’ll be fine. You may lose some points for not having experience but I think your awesome scores will even that out. If you’re not too confident with interviews, you can always retake the TEAS and shoot for 90+ and then do your best on the interview.

Hi everyone, I was admitted into Cohort 64 and was wondering if there’s any wisdom you’d be willing to share with a new NU nursing student! Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially things you wish you knew before starting school. Also, are there any supplies provided by the school? What will we need to buy before school starts? I’ve been watching a lot of Youtube videos on supplies I should buy but am curious from an NU nursing student’s perspective. Thank you!

I was accepted with a 3.4 GPA, 89.3% on the TEAS, and felt really confident about my interview. They asked me: Why is diversity in the health care field important? What does professionalism in nursing mean to you?How do you practice effective communication? Why National? Why nursing? Happy 4th!

Y'all! I was the one who posted that we find out on July 3rd, BUT I just emailed my adviser again, because I know it's a holiday weekend and I wanted to be sure! He said we could find out as early as TOMORROW! And as late as July 6th. Hopefully we find out tomorrow! AHHH! Good luck everyone! I hope we all get in!

My test was proctored by SDSU. I'm not sure if all institutions run their sessions the same, but for those of you taking your exam with SDSU, they use a program called Proctorio to proctor the exam. If you've already registered for the exam, you should have received an email with three things: Video instructions on how to add Proctorio to your Google ChromeYour "Practice ID" numberYour "TEAS Assessment ID" numberYou will use the Practice ID number for the dry-run, which is just a run-through of what you will need to do right before your exam. This includes: making sure your camera and microphone work, showing them your ID, scanning your room, and answering three random questions. They do this to make sure you're prepared and aware of how to take the exam. You can do the dry-run days ahead of time or right before your test. I did mine right before my test. My test was at 12:30 pm and I did my dry-run at 12:00 pm. This was helpful because as soon as I was finished with the dry-run, I was ready to go through the same exact steps but for the real test. Taking the exam itself is pretty straight forward. Just don't make the same mistake I did and make sure you use the restroom right before your test! LOL! Or just don't drink too much coffee ? Hope that was helpful! Let me know if you have specific questions.
