  1. Okay so I’m trying to complete all my pre-reqs by this time next year. This Summer I’m taking US GOV, TX GOV, and lifespan. Then I’ll need 34 more credit hours. Those courses needed are: history II, statistics, nutrition, chem + lab, Microbiology + lab, A&P I + lab, A&P II + lab, women’s studies, wellness course, and a philosophy OR cultural course. How should I take these to make them the most simple? Should I just take A&P I and II + labs this Summer to eliminate those from the mess of classes coming up? Orrr? Help please thank you ?
  2. So I think I’ve decided to skip over getting an ADN and go straight for the BSN. I was considering time and money, but here in Houston it just seems everywhere prefers a BSN. And I was going to bridge over anyway so I figured to just go ahead with BSN straight away. I’m really interested in TWU and I’ve been researching them a lot! I’ve still got some core curriculum and pre-nursing courses I need. This Summer I’ll be taking A&P I&II and lifespan. I saw that you get extra points for having at least 16 credits from TWU? (Or something similar) I obviously can’t just move to Denton to take those so I was wondering if any of these core courses and pre-nursing classes were taken online by anybody?? I have a “prospective transfer phone advising appt” for May 28 to discuss this with an advisor. I’ve taken the TEAS once before and made around 67. Definitely needs work but I didn’t study much at all for it. I also currently have around a 3.4 total GPA. I am planning to do my very BEST on my classes in the future (hopefully all A’s) So any tips on TWU online, TEAS help, and what would make me a good applicant? Thanks everyone. ?
  3. Thanks you guys. I think for the 1st 5 weeks I'm going to do A&P I + lab and Human Growth & Development. For the second 5 weeks I'm going to focus on A&P II + lab. I'll do Microbiology during the fall. Microbiology isn't a pre-req for the program I want in, but it is apart of the course work and you get extra points towards your application with it already done. But I want to make sure I make my best grades possible so I know my GPA will go up (which will also help me get in greatly). They'll also see my Microbiology is in progress and know it will be done before the program starts in January 2021. So maybe it will still help me out. Thanks again for the help and encouragement you guys! I'm excited for the journey ?
  4. Hi you guys. So I'm trying to finish my pre-reqs this Summer so I can apply to the ADN program in September. They're all 5 week Summer courses. So I need A&P I and II (plus labs), Human Growth & Lifespan Development, and Microbiology (and lab). So for the first 5 weeks I was wanting to do A&P I and lab and Human Growth & Lifespan Development. Then for the second 5 weeks I wanted to do Microbiology plus lab and A&P II plus lab. I don't work right now so thats not a problem. I do have a 2 year old, but I will have help while I'm busy with classwork. This is the only way I can get these classes done in time for the application deadline. It's a really competitive program and I'll also have to take the HESI sometime before September too. Let me know if I'm crazy and I should just take some more time and apply to a later program or if I should try it. :)
  5. LOL I was thinking maybe good HESI scores will help us out ?? But that’s really the only program I’m applying to. All the other programs I’ve looked at require more pre-reqs and I wouldn’t finish them in time to apply. Unless someone can point me to one that has the same number of pre-reqs as Alvin and the same September/October application period.
  6. I’m looking at applying for Alvin’s Spring 2021 ADN program. How hard is it to get accepted?? I’m taking A&P I&II over the Summer with Houston CC online. The current pre-reqs I have that count towards the program are general Psychology with an A and COMP I with a B. Are ACT scores relevant? I made a 22. Subscores are ENG: 25 MAT: 23 SCI: 21 RDG: 23. I’ve taken the TEAS before and I wanna say I made in the high 70’s range. How is that compared to the HESI? My last college GPA was a 3.4. Do you guys think there’s any chance? Thanks ?
