  1. CONGRATS!! how many weeks did you do 150 questions a day for? I failed the first time and then long story short realized I needed some time to take care of myself. It has been about 7 months but I'm motivated as ever and want to be a nurse. I'm about to purchase uworld and download mark klimeck lectures. Any tips on figuring out how long I will need to study since I've been out of the game for awhile?
  2. Long overdue posting on here, but I think I'm ready and it's time to give this my best shot....I completed an accelerated nursing program in August of 2019. It was easily the most challenging year of my life, between school, family, friends. Doing a nursing program in one year was hard enough. Every test was a war for me and I barely passed each class in the program. (have never been a great test taker, even in my prior career path). On top of it, had a death in the family, got dumped by a girlfriend of 4 years, and felt distant from my friends with my intense schedule. It was dark, and I was definitely depressed but somehow I made it through....until I took the NCLEX in october 2019 and failed. This was very defeating as you could imagine, especially when I felt I finally made it through. I let the failure get the best of me and almost gave up on being a nurse. Eventually, I started to take action and realized first, I needed to get my mental health back in check. Upon reflection, I believe ignoring my mental health played a role in not passing the NCLEX and realized I'm not ready to be a nurse until I take care of that. I was burnt-out from the program and the year I had. Since then, I decided to take a break from thinking about nursing, been seeing a therapist, and am on anti-depressants, all of which have made some positive improvements. Almost too much, its made me a little lax and content LOL. However, in a way, the recent Covid-19 pandemic has reminded me why I want to be a nurse. While I might not be the smartest, I definitely have the heart and drive to make a difference. I struggled through nursing school, but I made it and I just have one more obstacle, the NCLEX. TLDR: It does stress me out that it has now been about 8 months since I've graduated my nursing program, but if anyone has any suggestions on how I should prepare or any resources I should purchase, considering I've been out of the game so long I would gladly appreciate it. Previously used Kaplan and wasn't a big fan of it. Have seen many on here recommend Uworld, Hurst.
