Month away from graduation and NOW realize DUI will be an issue. Experience MD BON?
I would check with the state board asap and see what their requirements are on that subject. Most places require you to disclose such things when you apply for licensure intially plus you may also be fingerprinted. I wouldn't even THINK about trying to hide this because it may pop up in a database and then you will have some real explaining to do, maybe be denied testing for your license because you lied. Just be honest about everything and it should work out okay

RN in school getting BSN and hospitals still wont hire
Strange how competive things have gotten in the last few years. I graduated 20 years ago with my ADN and it was a given you had a job when you got out of school. Almost nobody was interested where I was in getting their BSN. The standard line was "why bother its only worth another 50 or dollar an hour anyway" I went ahead and got mine several years ago, now seems nobody will look at anyone unless they at least have a BSN. I even interviewed for a couple of jobs lately and even WITH a bsn and 20 years experience-no calls back Wouldnt want to be a new grad today. I'm gonna try going back for my DNP and becoming an NP, the midlevel management jobs suck.

Does it matter what school you go to get your Nursing Degree?
As long as they are acredited and you get what you need to pass NCLEX, it doesn't matter. When you are hired into a job, nobody will care where you went to school.....

Nurses are Pathetic!!
The OP needs to "speak for herself" and not generalize about ALL of us. I have been a nurse going on 16 years and have always tried to NOT be like those people she is ranting about. Yes, I have been the unlucky recipient of the backstabbing, gossiping and generally mean things she is referring to, but I have always tried to be the one to be different and make positve changes, not become burned out and bitter and ruin the work environment for others! OP...you sound exactly like a co-worker I've been dealing with lately. She's been in the same job as long as I've been a nurse(too long) and is clearly burned out but instead of moving to something else, she prefers to sit around and make the rest of us miserable too. We are all walking on eggshells trying not to set her off and were constantly trying to protect her from getting herself in trouble with administration with her mouth... I've always said if you don't like one job as a nurse, then GO DO SOMETHING ELSE! No one is tying you to your chair! Some people just get stuck in a rut and can't move out of a place they are no longer comfortable. Nursing is a big field, there's many jobs and everybody's not suited to the same thing. Yes, nursing has problems, but so does every profession. I just get tired of people who rant and rave about how bad nurses are to each other and then sit around wondering why no one is there to work with us anymore!

stinking of cigarette smoke
I dont' have a problem with not smoking at work, but what Scott's is doing is just wrong. What people do on their off time isnt the company's business. How long before they decide drinking a beer after work or maybe eating something not quite good for you for dinner is not acceptable? I don't smoke anymore but I can't see an employer putting their nose in the employess business off the clock like that
