  1. I interviewed on Wednesday last week around 3 PM. Heard back on Friday around 6 PM
  2. Same! And congratulations to you as well. I have an interview at my top hospital but not until Thursday.. I’m contemplating what to do next. When I told the recruiter, the main counter offer he gave me was that I would automatically get an $1.10 raise every 6 months at Baylor
  3. I interviewed with BUMC CTTICU and it was mainly behavioral. No case study or prioritization questions. Just expect there to be a lot of people. There were 5 people in there. Most interviews I’ve only had 3 for one unit.
  4. Just wanted to let everyone know that prior to your interview, UTSW requires a minimum of 5 references, 2 of which must be a manager or supervisor. Your clinical instructors and professors can count as a manager/supervisor.
  5. Thank you! Never got a call from UTSW only emails so far. And I did get the email asking for my secondary track which was Emergency, prior to the interview invite. IDK, if they’re still looking into applications/my application is no longer considered for that track as I have only heard from critical care.
  6. The only critical care experience I have is I currently work as a Nurse Extern at a Level 2 Trauma in a Neuro ICU that is in a hospital with a comprehensive stroke center since June. I have had no in person clinical experience since March 2020 only online because my school couldn’t secure me any clinical spots in a hospital. Apart from that, strong cover letter and resume that I asked somebody to look over (Nurse Mayura, I did the new grad package which she looked over my resume, cover letter, and practiced interview questions with me). Really highlighted my merits and willingness to learn and grow. Strong letters for my nurse manager & previous clinical instructors.
  7. I got an email this afternoon to schedule an interview with the Critical Care managers.
  8. Apply 2/2, video interview 2/6 and phone interview 3/9
  9. I got an email to schedule an interview with BUMC CTTICU this morning.
  10. I got an email with the dates and times for interview around 2 weeks prior to the actual date. They’re only doing interviews via Microsoft Teams. I would allot 30 minutes but so far the max interview time was 15 minutes. For each unit you interview with, it’s the unit manger & supervisor. I mainly got behavioral questions. I only got nonbehavioral questions from one unit & it was easy prioritization questions. I interviewed on a Thursday and received an offer within 24 hours.
  11. The way THR works is that they post applications for each unit & position that they have open. So once they get an x amount of applications for that position they automatically close it. So that’s why you have to apply the moment it opens or the location you want will already close. Especially for ICU. Neuro, Trauma and CV were all different applications so I applied separately to each one, but after your first application it just automatically fills out the data for you. Thank you! I really want to pursue CVICU when I graduate, that’s why I’m also interested in Baylor.
  12. Yeah, you get a starting bonus with Medical City, but I heard at one point that their pay just equals out with the surrounding DFW hospital base pay in the metroplex. Thanks! I am in intalent applicant. I mainly signed up for downtown FW location. Got an interview for Trauma ICU, Neuro ICU and CVICU. Got an offer from CVICU. Just so you know if you applied for Trauma there’s only one position open. The remainder of the units told me that they were going to continue interviewing people as HR sends it to them.
  13. I got an offer from Texas Health and I believe it was $26.50. So that rate is pretty standard. They do differentials, of course. Plus a pay step program which incentives you with increases the longer you stay in the program. And performance based raises. I think the only hospital in the DFW metroplex that doesn’t pay that rate is Medical City. I believe they actually pay lower because you get a starting bonus + “training rate” which I think is around $17 or low 20s. Don’t 100% quote me on Medical City though, I was told that by a friend
  14. I filled out my application 2/2 and interviewed 2/4 with Dallas & Grapevine as my top locations. I didn't hear anything for a whole month & thought my application was no longer considered. However, I finally heard back today for the phone screening/interview with HR. So to those who are still waiting be optimistic! They may just be processing those who sent their applications very early on in the process, just now.
  15. Neuro ICU, CVICU and STICU. I am also in-talent.
  16. I think that some locations respond faster than other locations since there are different HR Specialist's assigned to each location. So far I have heard back from Fort Worth, but not yet from Plano.
  17. Hi! I've applied to Methodist Dallas Medical Center under the critical care track on 2/2/21. I've yet to heard back from anything, and on my job page it just says they'll contact you if they plan on moving forward with your application.
  18. I applied to the Fort Worth's location CVICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU. I also applied to Plano's Acute Care ICU. I am also an in talent hire, so it may also be because of that.
  19. All of the positions I have applied to has changed to "Application under review" I also got an email the day after I applied that was a graduate screening form asking I list my top preference unit wise and location wise as well.
  20. Hi! What are your top preferences? I am hoping to go into the critical care track? IDK how accurate it is, but on the THR Versant Nurse Residency FAQ page it says that interviews would occur around March. However, when those interviews are conducted also depends on the unit manager and whichever location you are applying to as well.
  21. Hey guys! I unfortunately was not able to attend the graduate expo as I had to work all day. Does anyone know how many spots they have opened at BUMC ICUs? Such as CVICU, MICU, Neuro?
  22. Hello, Creating this thread for those who applied to the Texas Health Resources Nurse Residency this upcoming Summer (July) 2021. Applications opened this Thursday (2/11). Good luck to us all!
  23. Hi! I applied for BUMC-Dallas, Baylor Grapevine, and Baylor Dallas, respectively and put Critical Care as my number 1 choice. I was wondering if anyone else is planning on attending the Graduate Nurse Expo on February 13 for the North Texas locations under the critical care track as well. I was hoping to go, but unfortunately unable to d/t work and when I tried signing up for the expo I got waitlisted d/t the amount of people who have already signed up. I was just wondering if I could get info I miss from those who are going to attend.
  24. I don't blame you. ? There are so many hospitals in the DFW metroplex. But it's a 19-week program with a 1-week orientation date. 4- weeks in a medsurg/telemetry unit and 4-weeks in a specialty unit of your choice (availability depends on the unit of course). I choose to ICU and ED as my top choice, but they haven't disclosed which specialty unit you'll be placed on as of it.
