  1. Hi! Has anyone applied to Baylor Scott & White Health residency program for new grad nurses? If so, what was your process like and is it difficult to get a chance at an interview with their organization? What can I expect and what is their ideal candidate?
  2. Hi! I was just wondering if anyone one here has applied to the Spring 2021 Traditional Nursing program at UMB. I was told decisions are supposed to go out late November/early December and was wondering if anyone has received an update on their admissions status yet.
  3. Hi everyone, I just completed my prerequisites and will be applying to nursing school sometime this month. UMass Boston waived their TEA's score for the upcoming Spring 2021 program due to COVID-19 and I'm quite scared that I no longer have the score to boost my chances of getting in. My overall GPA is currently at a 3.36 at one institution and 4.0 at another (I only took one class there, that is worth about 4 credits). Science GPA has been majority A's with one B in A&P 2. (Bio, AP1, Microbiology, and Chem have been all A's) Psychology was also an A. - Does UMass Boston look at overall GPA and Science GPA separately? It looks like I'd have to heavily depend on my essay and GPA to get in as the TEAS wouldn't be a leverage for my application. I'm just really worried and overall anxious. I was wondering if anyone else has applied and had any tips for me. My confidence on getting into this program is quite low as I've read other threads with higher GPA's than mine including 80+ TEAS Scores. I'm just not sure how the application criteria will work now that the TEAS is no longer required for UMass Boston. If you got into UMass Boston and don't mind commenting what your stats were + what helped you get in it would be much appreciated. Thank you for reading!
  4. Hi Ella! I really appreciate your reply and had a few questions as well. Would it be okay if I asked you approximately how much it costs after aid at Simmons? Also, I looked into their admissions requirement and noticed that an essay was required but I'm currently unable to find the topic of the essay, what was the admissions process when you applied and is there a general essay topic that was given? Their tuition and fees also has room and board included in the total so I was wondering if on campus living was a requirement as well. Thank you so much!
  5. Hello! I will be relocating to Boston this Summer and I'm currently doing as much research as possible on the Nursing programs that are offered there. So far I have looked into Bunker Hill Community College and Simmons College. I'm mainly interested in getting my ADN to RN (which is why BHCC is an option) but I am not opposed to getting my BSN right away either. The nursing program at Simmons College seems very promising, the only issue is that it is very expensive and I'm afraid I won't be able to afford it. (Although loans are always an option). I noticed they have a 2 year and 4 year track and was wondering what the work load was like for 2 years. If you currently attend Simmons College or are an Alumni, it would be a huge help if I could ask some questions regarding the nursing program there! BHCC is also an option for me because it is very cost effective but I haven't been able to obtain a lot of insight on how good of a program it is. If you are a student at BHCC I would also like to ask a few questions as well. I am also open to any recommendations about Nursing Programs in the Boston area. Thank you so much!
