Thomas Edison State University - ABSN Fall 2020
@priyalparikh6 Hey, just a quick question. So I bought mometrix university and I've been studying from there and doing the practice exams they offer. Would you say that their science section was similar to the actual ATI TEAS ? I know you said it was helpful, but I just want to make sure that their format is similar to the actual exam. Also, did your exam have a lot of Chemistry ?

University of Rochester fall 2020 ABPNN
Hey guys, Just an update, I emailed Rochester yesterday and received a response today. They have already taken some students off the waitlist, and as a result they are going to close the waitlist in the middle of July. So I’m assuming they won’t be able to take anyone off the waitlist anymore.

@priyalparikh6 Thanks a lot of this detailed explanation. At first, I was kinda bummed when my exam got pushed back but I also saw it as more time to review and make sure I know everything fully. The only thing that worries me about having my exam pushed back is that it might decrease my chances of getting accepted since spots might be full by then. I'm just hoping I get accepted for the October cohort. I only applied to 2 schools, with TESU being my first choice. The other school I applied too is upstate and I already got waitlisted.

@priyalparikh6 My exam was scheduled for tomorrow but because of a misunderstanding I’m unable to take it tomorrow, so I was told I can take it on the 25th. Would you be able to share a bit about your exam, what was emphasised and how you studied. Also, please tell us what questions they asked during the interview and how long it was. Sorry I’m asking so much, just wanted to be prepared. CONGRATS on your acceptance ?

@gabriela862 Thank you, this was very helpful. My last questions is about anatomy and physiology. Would you say the questions were the same, or similar to the Anatomy and Physiology 2007 online quiz provided by ATI TEAS on their website? I went through the exam and it seems to be good but I wouldn't want to base my studying on it if the questions were no were near those questions

Hey, my TEAS exam is June 11th. I’m pretty scared for that. @gabriela862, I know you already answered this, but can you say more about the exam ? So you said it’s similar to the online practice exam offered by ATI TEAS? In terms of the science portion was Chemistry a heavy tested subject ? Any tips you can give ? Also I attended the May 16th Webinar. They said that they would start conducting interview last week of May beginning of June.

Hey guys, I also got the email. Glad that it seems like we’re all in this together LOL :)

Hey have you guys already registered for the online proctored TEAS exam? Thomas Edison sent out an email saying that they will also be offering the exam. I registered for the May 16th webinar but I highly doubt that I will be able to attend. If anyone attends can you please share on this thread how it goes and what questions were discussed as it pertains to the program and the fall 2020 cohort? Also @Judith Laster I think that is a question you would have to ask the school. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. If you find out please share here for others who might have wondered the same question.

Yes everything stays the same and we won’t have to pay, the only thing we would have to do again is our interview; granted they give us another chance. she said that if we wanted to upgrade our letters of recommendation and personal statements if we chose to defer our applications, we would just have to send an email to : [email protected] with the updated information

We have until July 1st to defer. They don’t automatically defer your application. You have to send an email to [email protected] letting them know that you would like to defer your application. Once your application has been defered you will no longer be considered for the Fall 2020 cohort. So I did some calculations and it looks liked if our original application pool had been accepted into the upcoming cohort, the waitlist would not have been 80 but instead would have been about 30

It’s really disappointing guys. I called I was told that there are 80 of us on the waitlist, and based off of previous admissions years they generally are only able to take 2-3 people off the waitlist. We have until July 1st to decide whether or not we would like to defer our application to the January cohort. By deferring we would have to go through the entire process all over again; interview and waiting for a response. Also, the fall 2020 class size was 65- all 65 of those seats were filled with applicants from the May 2020 cohort. They increased the fall 2020 class size to 80 meaning that only 15 of us were accepted. I asked the person I spoke to if there was some system they used to decide who would be taken off the waitlist and she told me she wasn’t sure. She didn’t know if they would do it based off of rank. Meaning the strongest to weakest applications in the waitlist pool.
