    Chances for CRNA School

When you were on interviews were you questioned about your GPA from your 1st degree?

    Chances for CRNA School

I appreciate your insight. I have done research on my unit and have research experience in the past, will work on gaining leadership experiences. How many schools did you apply to? I have contacted many schools that will take the last 60 credits of work as the major factor in admissions. I am going to apply to larger programs and I have no limit geographically on where I can go to school. I believe some schools will replace your previous grade, while others will average a retaken course, so call around and ask schools this question.

    Chances for CRNA School

only kidding about references will put up with it. I will always be respectful in asking for letters of rec and have successfully attained them in the past. I called a number of schools and have found a number that will look at just my BSN GPA, so I will strategically plan and avoid those that don't look at past 60 credits.

So, in general, you mentioned that you needed to get ACLS certification and that was what schools recommended after the first round of applications. What are some other things that you did to strengthen your application in applying?

    Chances for CRNA School

Good Luck. What's the average number of years working in the ICU that you have seen in other applicants during interviews.

    Chances for CRNA School

Out of curiosity are you applying to programs with a small number of students or those that accept a large number. Versus the other smaller sized programs that may only take like 10-15. Texas Wesleyan Class Size 127-139 Number of Applicants 460 apply, but not all applicants meet the minimum requirements. Only 300 are generally interviewed

So getting the CCRN certification and others will help with the application process.

    Chances for CRNA School

I'll make it happen, references will put up with it. So 17 out of 40 will look at the past 60 credits, an example from Interamerican University GPA, "A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required in the last 60 credit hours of academic work." Then I'll just wing it with the others and some I have talked to on the phone stated they will look at overall trends in the academic performance.

    Chances for CRNA School

Will they screen me out solely based on the fact that my cumulative is going to be below a 3.0?

    Chances for CRNA School

when you applied to schools and were at interviews did they ask about your past GPA that was lower. Did you take the GRE? They say professional development is also looked at, so how would like leadership positions and being involved in programs in my ABSN program look? Just apply to more schools this time and save up, go for like 30 schools. Think about it, that 100*30= $3,000, but each year you are waiting to get in is one less year of potential future income 200K+.

    Chances for CRNA School

I feel that it's just a numbers game and all it takes is one acceptance, I don't care where I go. Going to apply to 40 and see what happens. Did you ask any of the schools what you needed to improve on? Did they still reject you despite the fact that your current academic work showed improvement.

    Chances for CRNA School

How many schools does the average applicant apply to? I'm thinking to apply to the 17 that will consider the last 60 credits and then adding 20-30 more. What's the general approach most take with applying?

    Chances for CRNA School

I am just wondering what you think my chances for CRNA school are, below are my stats. I am just wondering if CRNA programs will reject me for the low undergrad GPA that is below a 3.0. I have sorted through all the CRNA programs in the US and found 17 that will consider the last 60 credits for the GPA. Going to take the GRE in the next couple of weeks. undergrad GPA- 2.8 post bac GPA- 3.7 ABSN GPA- 4.0 1 year ICU experience
