  1. Hi ALM. I think there’s a new forum for people who applied to Summer 2021. I am a re-applicant myself. I also would like to know how many people made it after 2-3 tries.
  2. I’ll send you an e-mail. It’s be nice to connect with people who are on the same path..
  3. Ahh?? to everyone who got denied. Don’t give up guys. I know there is a school out there that will accept us. I have to say that if anyone plans to reapply, it’s a good idea to change personal statement, letters of rec, and also add some things to resume. Maybe get a clinical position, volunteering, etc. They want to see change.
  4. I haven’t since I really thought I would get in. But I will be applying to ABSN and other ELM programs. I just feel bad I lost so much time. I submitted my application back in November, and I got the decision just now. I am sure someone will give us a shot though. Azusa does not provide direct feedback. They just say it’s competitive. Competitive how I am not sure. I’d just apply everywhere at this point..
  5. Hi everyone! CONGRATS to those who were able to get in. I was also denied admission. It was my first time applying to the main and IE. However, I have to say that I really thought I had a shot. I have to say that I’ve been doing a lot of research about this program, and I personally know people who were accepted and went through their ELM program. Truly, I have to say that I am not sure what their selection criteria is. I know that their program has gotten extremely competitive and selective. But, at the same time I know people who were accepted with mediocre grades and no healthcare experience within the first try. I also heard people with excellent academics who were denied 2-3 times. I am not sure what the happy medium is. I thought it was the interview, but again I thought my interview went quite well. Not sure if I’ll reapply.
  6. How was your interview? How did you feel after it?
  7. Oh man that sounds so discouraging:// I don’t even know if it’s worth reapplying at this point...
  8. It was just a general letter. So my guess is I got denied from both. When you reapply, do you need to write a new statement essay and new letters of recommendation?
  9. Well I applied to both Azusa and IE. I wish they gave a reason, but I am not sure if I should even reapply since they didn’t give that option. I know they’ve accepted people with less than stellar academics and no healthcare background. I thought I had a a good chance. I guess I bombed my interview LOL Thank you :)) SD is a bit too far for me. I hope you get in this term!!
  10. Hi all! CONGRATS to those who got accepted. I just got my decision today that they denied my admission. They didn’t give a reason as to why. I was under the impression I was a pretty competitive candidate with 3.8 science and 3.8 non-science, many years of experience in healthcare and volunteering. I am not sure what their criteria is. During the interview they told me I was a strong candidate. I am not sure if I should reapply or just let it go and look at other schools..
  11. Well my portal doesn’t show anything as of now. I guess the timeline is different for everybody...
  12. Does anybody know if, say, you didn’t make it to the cohort you applied to, would your portal say that your application was denied? Just because I know a lot of people will be reapplying..
  13. That’s awesome! Mine still doesn’t show anything. Other than 100% completed. I guess they should still inform you if you were denied?
  14. Hey spincraxy76! Congratulations on your acceptance! Did they already send out acceptance letters for Spring 2021 cohort ? I haven’t heard anything at all. I’ve been told it would be sometime in May..
  15. CONGRATS! I am sure you did really well. oh WOW!!...end of May? I guess they changed their deadline. I thought it would be the first weeks of May..
  16. Hi puglover! You can probably do it in one paragraph or an essay style. I don’t think they give you specific instructions as far as how long the summary should be. I did intro, a few paragraphs and a conclusion.
  17. Hi! I am not sure if they give the same reading piece to everybody, but from what I know, it can be a journal article about dealing with stress in nursing schools, ethical issues, religion, etc. Basically, you just summarize it in your own words. Those are very straight forward articles. You pick the main points. Don’t focus too much on the length, but more on the content. I think the school wants to see you are proficient enough in expressing yourself in a professional manner..good luck!
  18. Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing good and is safe out there. I know it’s unlikely due to what is currently happening, but I wanted to see if anyone got any updates on interviews, decisions, etc. I know APU was conducting their in-person interviews the first week of March. I am not sure what is happening now...
  19. I know APU was conducting their in-person interviews for the 2021 cohorts the first week of March. I am not sure what’s going on now or if the current situation would have an impact on timeline of their decisions. I was wondering the same thing. I’ve been told the decisions about Spring 2021 applicants would come around the end of April/May, after the admission committee meets. I am not sure what’s going on at this point...not sure if anybody here would have some new information..
  20. That’s awesome. Congrats!! I am just trying to get a feel for their interview process/selection criteria. Do you know anything about it? I know there’s a writing portion to it. I am mostly concerned about that. I know it’s an article summary but still it’s nerve wrecking ?
  21. Hi folks! Has anyone on this thread applied to Azusa ELM Spring 2021 to the IE/main campus? The deadline was February 1st. Wanted to see if anyone heard anything? Just trying to connect and stay in touch with the applicants.
