  1. @jess.mont Thank you for such an informative reply! I definitely am going to take Rasmussen off the list, it is certainly far cheaper to go to a community college ?
  2. Hello! A little bit of background info: I am a high school student who has wanted to be a nurse since early childhood. I have read a lot about nursing and talked to a few nurses and think it would be a perfect career fit for me. I love to help people through difficult situations, am extremely interested in learning about biology and the human body (I have Asperger's and human anatomy/biology is sort of an "obsessive" topic for me to learn about), and have an extremely high tolerance for the gross and gruesome ? Prior to my Asperger's diagnosis I had issues with school and failed multiple classes but I have learned to manage and now have a really good hold on my schedule and have been getting A's in school. I am in an accredited online high school and have been going back and re-doing courses. I plan on graduating in December but I am completely clueless on how to approach applying to college. I will be the first in my family to go to college and don't have a support system to give me advice on what to do so I have turned to the internet for help ? I live in Minnesota but my family has been seriously thinking about moving to Northern Idaho in 1-3 years so I would possibly be attending a college in that area or Spokane WA. My end goal is a bachelor's and have considered Rasmussen's accelerated BSN to reach that goal but I am wondering if it would be smarter to go to a community college and get an associate's and then do an RN to BSN program. I have read that it can be extremely difficult to get into a community college nursing program. I am aiming for a 3.7+ GPA in highschool but if things go as planned I most likely will have a 4.0. Obviously I hope to get a decent score on the TEAS exam. Is there anything I can do to make my application stand out? I have thought about getting a job as a CNA. Heres the stupid question part: I am confused about prerequisites. When a college talks about prerequisites such as English 101 are they talking about high school courses or college courses? If they are talking about college courses how long does it usually take to complete the prereqs? I would like to get into the working field as soon as possible and am looking towards the fastest route. Apologies for the long read, I have a tendency to ramble. Thank you for looking!
