Hello! Would anyone know if some of the hospital start dates are flexible for residencies? I see that Providence, St. Francis, Swedish, all have an August start dates however, I graduate in September. I know that Virginia Mason has a flexible start date. I emailed St. Francis and waiting to hear back but I can't find any contact at Providence Everett. Appreciate any information anyone can provide and even if you have any information about applying in general. Thank you!

Hi @futurenurseis! Was that confirmed for Portland that Summer will begin as hybrid (online and in person)? We haven't heard yet about Ashland but would assume they will run the same program.

I know that they haven't confirmed the entire cohort yet. As of last week, when I reached out, they said they are still waiting to hear back from people, on their acceptance, which is why we haven't received our SOU id's yet.

Hi! I was requesting about signing up for student housing but was told I couldn't yet because they have to assign student id's for both SOU and OHSU. Until they have the whole cohort confirmed they won't send this information to us so I can't sign up for housing yet. So...I still don't have a student id for both SOU and OHSU so they must not have confirmed the whole cohort yet...just fyi ?

Thanks @jules_r hopefully, they decide soon. so many other schools have already moved to online or pushed things off until fall.

I was reading about the requirements for technology and that it says Mac's/Apple may pose to have some issues. Anyone know if other students have been able to work out those issues with the newer Mac's?

But I'm speaking with OHSU who said that a lot of students are in similar situations and not to worry because the most important things we need right now are our drug test and background test in order to start classes.

@orneryscientist thank you! where did you read about the compass trainings? I totally missed that. My vaccinations are a mish mosh because I've moved around so much. I scheduled to see my PCP to get a titer but they just informed me that due to financial reasons (due to covid) they are closed as of today. Hopefully, what I have will work...

@ohjoy I cannot believe the price for some of these places that look completely run down! Mama Mia! Anyone want to rent a house together? I see nice homes but I don't need 3 bedrooms and can't afford a whole home but if I had roommates, I could. Hopefully, OHSU will send information on housing so I can see about getting a dorm room at least for the first quarter...

Hello - to anyone accepting the OHSU ABSN Summer program but is out of state, what will you all do if the stay at home orders are still in place? My biggest concern is actually being able to find housing and if anyone will want to rent out to me coming in from Washington State. Maybe, I'm thinking about this too early since a lot can change in 2 months...but trying to plan is proving to be a little more difficult than expected.
