  1. Hi, I am a CDN nurse working in WA state. I passed the American NCLEX already. I went to school in BC, Canada. I wanted to know if anyone has experience with applying for your CA license as a Canadian grad. I have submitted everything and now my education breakdown form is on the way to the board from my old nursing program. I would think my education is sufficient but wondering what everyone else;s experience has been. Also if anyone is similar to me and working in CA I would like to use that as proof to the board that my education etc is sufficient.
  2. Okay - for now I am focusing on what I need to do for WA For the TN visa all I have is my completed visa screen certificate from CGFNS I will also have a job offer letter Do I need to do anything else or speak to an immigration lawyer? Can I apply for my SSN and register my car once I am in WA settled?
  3. OK yah so that means I'll just work in WA and then apply for CA jobs So do I go with my job offer letter and my CGFNS visa screen cert to the border crossing and then what do they stamp or give me? IS that all you have to do??? (which is easy for me 15 mins away and that's how you get to WA from here in Vanc Canada) Also does anyone know say if I take a month off before working in CA and want to be in CA while im job hunting is that allowed or do I need to go back to Canada (I'll have already worked in WA but I guess its the TN for WA)
  4. Hi hopping on : So I am currently in a similar predicament: I decided to get my WA state license and work in WA for as short a time as possible so I can then obtain an SSN as WA hires without and then when I get one I was going to apply for my CA license. Are you telling me that you can skip this step??? I wasn't going to move to CA until I had the actual job etc Oh and I'm Canadian and already have my WA nursing license and TN visa screen done. I am currently interviewing for WA jobs. Which I'm OK with as it may be a better transition but I do want to get to CA asap for many reasons LOL
  5. Hi, I have my visa screen complete and my WA nursing license almost processed. I hold an Idaho license (that I'll probably never use, just got it) I'm from Vancouver, BC I want to do a shorter assignment in WA state but besides Aya health, I have no idea where to look for jobs, espec places that hire initially without an SSN to start. Thank you!

  9. That’s not the only way to do it. I know there’s other people in my situation who don’t have a sun card. I’ll wait until someone else answers.
  10. Hello, All the posts seem to be older. I just wanted any advice or clarification on the process of a Cdn RN who graduated before writing the cdn NCLEX for licensing in California. I was going to pay to go through CGFNS - credentials eval option. I have already been an RN for 9 years in Vancouver BC . I wanted to do travel nursing- seems like an easier process job/visa wise. Is there anything more I can/need to do? Thanks!
