  1. Hi folks, I am interviewing with the ICU panel at John Muir health. To the folks who interviewed with CVICU/ICU did they ask mostly behavioral questions or were there any clinical questions asked? Any reflections on your experiences interviewing welcome. Thanks! @layanegg I am very interested in the CVICU and interviewing with the ICU panel this week. How was your interview? Did they ask any clinical questions or mostly behavioral? Did you stress your interest in CV specifically? Thanks for any information!
  2. Question for applicants: How many folks sought out ACLS before applying? I am considering taking an ACLS course even though this is not a minimum requirement. Would this strengthen an application or is this not too important?
  3. Question for applicants/current participants: How important was having ACLS before applying? I am considering taking an ACLS course even though this is not a minimum requirement. Would this strengthen an application or is this not too important?
  4. Hi Folks, regarding this residency program and others around the Northern California area, do these programs typically prefer or favor students from in state or from the same area? I have been accepted by NAU ABSN and CSULA ABSN and am hoping to eventually work back in N California (born and raised) and would appreciate any insight as to whether school location has any bearing on applying to these programs? Thanks for any help!

  6. Hi Folks! I was wondering if anyone had any additional information regarding the turn around time for acceptance letters. If we are offered admission to the program, how much time are applicants given to return their decision? Additionally, are acceptances released on a rolling basis? Is there an advantage to accepting an earlier interview slot? Thanks for any information folks can provide! Good luck to everyone!
  7. Hi Folks, Thanks for posting this wealth of information. A few quick questions regarding the program: 1) Did anyone take the TEAS as well and find it similar to the Kaplan? Is studying for the TEAS sufficient? 2) Does anyone have an approximate figure for total tuition for a WUE (CA) student in the ABSN. After several calls/emails I still have not received a straightforward answer regarding the total cost. If an out of state student could comment on their experience I would greatly appreciate any input! Thanks!
  8. thank you @Kiki and @Cpt ATP for those numbers. Thats what I roughly coming up with too. Thanks for clarifying. As far as accelerated programs go, thats one screaming deal!
  9. Good luck to folks applying this cycle! Regarding finances--an unfortunate necessary evil. Does anyone know the approximate cost of attendance for an out of state WUE student for the 12 month program? Thanks for your help!
  10. Hi everyone! In the process of getting prereqs done for ABSN programs. Does anyone know of any accelerated Anatomy/Physiology programs at any community colleges in CA? Ideally an accelerated summer session to get both classes done in one summer. I know TMCC in reno used to offer this, but they are changing their schedule this summer. Havent been able to find anything in CA yet. All ideas welcome!
  11. Hi everyone! I have been working in health care for a few years now on and off as a ski patroller and now in a clinic as an MA and have decided to pursue an ABSN program. I live in CA and have had little luck finding affordable one year programs. I have a BS in Biology and feel ready to complete the program in as little time as possible to minimize loans/time etc. Does anyone know of affordable 12-15 month ABSN programs that cost less than 35K for tuition? So far I'm aware of NAU--although if anyone could quote an approximate WUE cost for that program that would be appreciated too! Any ideas are welcome!
  12. Awesome, thanks for looking out! From the above posts/personal research I've found the following options for pathology/pathophysiology courses: -SBCC, Woodland CC, Moorpark CC in california -Rio Salado in AZ
  13. Hi folks, Interested in applying to this program. Curious if anyone knows of any community colleges in CA/ Community colleges that offer online General pathology courses. How did you all fulfill that prereq? Thanks!
