  1. Hello all, One more semester until applying! I just finished pharmacology with an A and have to take Micro this Summer. My plan is to start my application this month, specifically my personal statement because I will likely rewrite it 20 times. Can't wait until we get closer but I am also a littler nervous. Good luck to all! Meg
  2. I agree with FNPbuckeye, it was very helpful and informative about the program and the admission process. I didn't have specific information about each program or specialty, it was more a well rounded look. I feel a lot better after attending on what all I need to include in my purpose statement. I definitely recommend attending one (you can do so virtually). They are also great at answering questions. That being said their have someone in their office that is currently going through the program and has the CNM specialty. I plan on setting some time aside to talk with her and ask questions about the CNM program specifically. He said all we needed to do was contact them and they will be able to connect us with her (or other students) to get the student perspective.
  3. That is very exciting! I went to an informational session on Monday and it was definitely enlightening. I will be done with my pre-reqs after summer but am starting to write my purpose statement now. He actually stated that the FNP specialty accepts the most amount of applicants, I hope that gives you some more hope. Just to think in a year we will hopefully be getting our acceptance letters! Good Luck!! Meg
  4. That is so exciting! I went to the informational session yesterday and he said that you would all be getting decisions yesterday or today!
  5. Hey! I am pretty much in the same boat. I am actually currently on a wait list for a ASN program and working towards it. I am going to let fate play out, if I am accepted into this program (preferred) I will go that route, and after passing the NCLEX our second year try and get a job as a L&D nurse to get some experience during the last year. If not I am set to start the ASN program next fall and then work towards the traditional route, which I expect to be more complicated because how competitive most L&D nursing positions are.
  6. RRTtoMidwife I really appreciate your feedback! Has anyone heard anything yet? I look forward to hearing how the program goes as well!
  7. Good Afternoon Everyone! I am apply in August 2020 for Summer 2021! I am so very excited about this opportunity, as it will allow me to become a CNM in 3-4 years rather than 10-12 (ish) years (getting an ASN, 1-2 years to get into L&D as a nurse, 1-2 years of L&D experience/get BSN, and finally MSN program). I have huge dreams, but it all starts here. I am super nervous about admissions because I didn't do too amazing during my undergrad (I was young and just doing it to have a degree) and graduated with a 2.8. I did do pretty well with my graduate degree (3.8), so i am hoping that will help. I called and he said that not having a 3.0 in undergrad won't disqualify me. I have also gotten A's in each of the pre-reqs that I have taken so far (though I am taking pharm this semester). I look forward to hearing feedback and also connect with other students who are applying this year as well.
