  1. Congratulations on your new endeavor! Your professional background sounds like a great fit for a Psych NP program. I am a retired professor in psychiatric nursing and tried to look at your essay from the perspective of an admissions member. For my own information, I took a look at the BC website and saw that there is a second question to address, one about your personal development. You address your personal background very well. I would suggest using your paragraphs #1 and #2 to answer this question. You might consider omitting the reference to the MA Government website and just staying with your own thoughts. Paragraph #3 of your essay is a nice fit for question one. You address your experience and begin to talk about how you would use the NP education. I would suggest expanding on this topic. Do you know what venue you would want to work in? What specifically about being qualified as an NP attracts you? Do you like the idea of doing therapy, prescribing meds? If BC has outcome program measures, as most schools do, how do the outcomes match up with your own goals? You have already accomplished a lot with your essay! I hope my comments have been of some help, but as 12-Step programs say, "Take what you like and leave the rest." ? If I can do anything further for you, it would be my pleasure. I wish you the best!
