The original dressing fell off when the patient was getting dressed. A new dressing was placed without notifying surgery. That was the error. There were no dressing care orders. I have never had an issue with patient care.

I'm in my probationary period and the review is aimed at deciding my retainment or separation. I'm wondering if anyone has had experience related to this. The patient had to get a new dressing put on in the ED. I would think that is some level of patient harm.

Does anyone have any experience going up for a review with the Nursing Professional Standards Board? I may loose my job because of an error I had made with a dressing that ended up bleeding when the patient went home.
