  1. I graduated in May from nursing school and began my first nursing job in August at a hospital on a med-surg unit. I am on night shift. Right after I started my job, I also began an online chemistry class with lecture & lab because at the time I was thinking I wanted to pursue PA and PA programs require this (I did not have to take chem for my nursing program). Since I've started working I've realized I really would like to pursue NP. I have had a really hard time focusing on this chemistry class because of how overwhelming it has been being a new nurse along with adjusting to night shift. I feel like I sleep all the time and when I'm not working, the last thing I want to do is work on this class. Honestly, I would really like to drop this class but I don't know how that would look to NP programs. Is this frowned upon? Along with this, I am wondering if when I apply for NP programs if I even have to include this class on my transcript since it is not from the same school I received my undergrad/nursing degree from or if that would be unethical. I received good grades in nursing school and don't want to screw that up. I realize now signing up for a class along with starting my first nursing job was not the greatest idea! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ?
