They asked to bring a physical copy of the portfolio to the actual interview. I included my cover letter, resume, letters of recommendation, employee references, degree, license, BLS/ACLS, nursing scholarships and past certifications from other healthcare positions that I've held (CNA, Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant, etc)...pretty much in that order, I enclosed each document in a page protector and bound them inside a thin binder. I did not include a table of contents and kept the portfolio to maybe 10 to 12 documents total. Everyone is going to have a different portfolio and that is ok but it essentially includes professional documents related to your healthcare journey and the position you are applying for.

Just an update. I received a job offer from SMH PCU the other day after completing reference checks! The offer is contingent on completing the background check, ect. So if you've applied and interviewed for these units you should be hearing back soon if you haven't already. Good luck to everyone!

Hello, I received a call and an email to interview with SMH PCU Medical/Surgical for January. To put the timeline into perspective, the application was submitted in October, I received the invitation to self identify around the 5th of November, followed by an email prompting me to choose units within PCU around the 14th of November and I received an interview invitation around the 14th of December. I have not heard from Chula Vista or SGH other than emails to self identify in November. Best of luck to everyone here receiving interview emails and for those that didn't keep on applying and remain positive and patient. Kind regards
