  1. Not at all! I was fortunate to have my senior nursing externship at a Scripps ED, which gave me so much exposure to diverse populations, disease processes, and taught me to always be on my toes! I had work experience as a CNA and had my BLS and Mental Health First Aid certifications at the time (and now ACLS as of Thursday ?). While I think my externship helped me get an interview, I think being honest and passionate as to why I wanted to be an ED nurse in my cover letter played an important role too.
  2. I got a call this morning! I got offered a position in the ED at UCSD La Jolla! They could still be calling for La Jolla, Hillcrest, or the ED Inpatient position!
  3. I did--I just got a call asking if I had a preference for the ED in La Jolla or Hillcrest. I'm not sure if that's a good sign, but I was told that they'd let me know "soon" or "this week" and that they're just "finalizing placements". I was so nervous, I can't really remember what was said verbatim. For reference: the last of my references were completed on Saturday around 9pm. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I hope them asking for my location preference is a good sign unless they're asking everyone... Back to being anxious.
  4. For those who received an email on February 14th, do you know if the deadline of 7 days apply only to ordering the package (drug test, Complio access for 24 months, and background check)? I'm not sure if I need to have my drug screen completed by the 7th day (tomorrow) or if simply ordering the package is fine until later on. Thank you in advance!
  5. I took Biology of Nutrition and Disease last year and I’m currently taking Biomedical Ethics and the anthropology class this semester! I really want to be accepted for the summer cohort though!
  6. I got accepted! I just found out an hour ago! Mine says "conditionally accepted" because I'm still working on my degree though. Also, mine says "Summer application withdrawn" and I got accepted for Fall 2020! I was talking to a lot of previous ABSN students and they said that they move you since your degree isn't conferred yet. I'm hoping they move me back to summer so I can meet all of y'all! To those accepted, congratulations! To those still waiting, GOOD LUCK!
  7. I submitted my application Dec. 3 at 11PM or 12AM, I can't remember the time stamp exactly. Technically, it was submitted on the deadline! Does that make a difference?
  8. I called to see if students who are still working on their degree at CSUSM get notified later since their Bachelor's aren't conferred and was told no! We're all supposed to find out around the 'same time'! Good luck everyone!
  9. I hope not! Mine is W
  10. Are you guys looking at your MYCSUSM portal or the portal that you applied on? I keep checking both, but it just says "completed"! The anxiety is killing me :( For reference, I have 36 points!
  11. Sorry!!! I didn’t mean to scare ya! Now I’m nervous if I’m going to get in during the first round since I thought my application was pushed back!
  12. Ahh, you know what... maybe she thought I wasn’t done with my pre-requisites when I had called. I’m sorry about the wrong information! I think Carlsbad74 is right! Now I wonder why my evaluation didn’t come in until today...
  13. So, when I had called a month back, a really helpful lady told me that since my Bachelor’s is still in progress, I wouldn’t get my evaluation as soon as others (who have the pre-reqs and have their degree conferred). As for finding out when/if I get in, she said that admissions are broken into rounds (I think she said 3 rounds). Since my application is technically incomplete without my conferred degree, I believe she told me I’m not necessarily eligible for admissions for the 1st round. The bummer: because of this, she said I would most likely find out about my admission status (or not) after the 3rd round depending on how many people accepted their offer and how many spots are available for those who declined. Essentially, she said I would potentially get any left over seat ? For that reason, she said it’s possible that someone with 32 points (just an example!) would get accepted into the program and someone with 37 might not. I’m sorry if my grammar was all over the place!
  14. I actually just got my point evaluation! I think because I’m graduating this May, people who are still working on their Bachelor’s will be the last to know if they got in! But my point evaluation is 36! I hope it’s enough ? Good luck everyone!
  15. I called the Extended Learning Office a few weeks ago and they said that they give you your evaluation score once they receive all of your documents. I think they gave a rough estimate of 2-3 weeks!
