CNA pressured to work sick
I work as a CNA at a skilled nursing facility. A coworker of mine recently tested positive for covid and I began showing symptoms of being sick a few days earlier. My boss refuses to test me, makes me feel guilty for calling in sick (even went as far as to say that she thinks I have allergies). Shes completely ignoring the fact that I could have had contact with someone with covid. We've received frightening little information about the employee who tested positive. I feel like the staff isn't being properly protected, they aren't taking Covid seriously and that my job is threatened for me taking sick time. I understand the need to be fully staffed during these times but the amount of stress and tension and lack of support I have felt from my supervisor is really disconcerting. What should I do in this situation?

CNA resident fall
I'm a new CNA and just finishing up my 3 weeks of orientation. I had two falls this week from residents that were partially under my care while I was still being supervised. One happened to be a resident who was being taken care of by Hopsice that day, she fell out of her chair after I was called away to a staff meeting. The other was a man who was supposed to have a bed alarm on him but it wasn't turned on. I was not told he was supposed to have a bed alarm but I could have found out by checking his file but I failed to do so. I was serving trays in the dining room at the time of the incident and his room was suppose to be being watched by a fellow employee. Now I'm worried I will lose my job or certification because two falls in one week looks bad for me. Any advice will help ease my anxiety.

CNA skills test
I actually got my test failure overturned. I provided multiple Red Cross materials that demonstrated the resident at least taking a step to pivot and even one to back into the chair which is exactly what I did. I actually retook the test a day before my grievance decision came through so technically I passed twice! I did significantly worse on my second testing and still passed which really proves my theory that they are out to make money: it’s very sad.

CNA skills test
I will add that I was taught, given materials to study with by, and tested by the American Red Cross so I'm very confused about the discrepancies.

CNA skills test
Hello, yesterday I took the CNA state exam and failed my skills portion due to missing a critical step on one skill that I performed exactly how all of my given materials and course teacher described the skill to me. The nurse who failed me told me I failed because I made the resident take steps when transferring from bed to chair with gait belt. I was taught that I was suppose to do this and also my CEP form provided to me by the Red Cross stated that this is the proper way to do the skill. I do not understand how they expect someone to pass the test if they arent giving correct information on how to pass certain skills. I filed a greivance but Im sure it wont be granted. Has anyone ever had a similar experience? Failing for performing a skill exactly as they were taught? I'm disheartened and in disbelief that this is a fair result. I do not know how I am suppose to pass if they make me retake it if I'm not given the right information. Very upsetting. Commiseration or advice would be much appreciated.
