Pasadena ADN Program Spring 2021
I don't, I'm sorry. There was a time they weren't sure they would be able to admit any new first semester students because they are struggling to get clinical sites. Hospitals are not accepting many students which make it difficult for the programs to complete state requirements. I was happy to hear they are able to welcome new students in the Spring.

Pasadena ADN Program Spring 2021
In our weekly curriculum meeting the director mentioned that they have been inundated with a high number of applications for this application period due to Covid and some schools not admitting new students in the Spring. I would expect that it will take closer to the 8 weeks but you never know.

I agree with Fanagan, the TEAS is not terrible and the parts that surprised me the most were the reading comprehension and grammar sections. I used ATI's TEAS prep and it helped a lot, gave me a better idea of where I needed to improve and focus my attention as well as the types of questions to expect. I ended up with a 92 overall using the ATI prep for about 2 weeks before my exam.

Of course, I'm happy to answer any questions. There are some in my cohort that had previous experience in the medical field, but like me, many did not. It seems like you have a solid score and have done what you can up until this point to put yourself in the best position possible. Try not to stress too much about how you can add to it (I did, constantly), and in the end it it is just that, more stress. I hope that I see you around campus next semester!!

Pasadena ADN Program Spring 2021
I was accepted with 83 points in Spring of 2020, retaking my first semester now due to Covid, but some of my classmates had fewer points. It really just depends on the pool of people you are going up against when you register. They accept the highest score first and then work their way down until all spots are filled. If they have a group of people with the same score and not enough spots to accept them all of them, I believe they use a random lottery.

Is anyone else having trouble with the Wolters Kluwer website? The drop down menu only has an option for Fall 2019 and thus the incorrect books for us. I tried reaching out to PCC but haven't received a response for a few days.

Wow, thank you for that. I have been trying to get more detailed information about the programs for a month and your post was incredibly helpful. For the last few weeks I’ve been stressing over which program I would pick, GCC or PCC, and I finally made a choice to go with PCC yesterday. The insight you shared eased my mind that I have made the best possible choice for me, I can’t thank you enough.

Tried to message you but for some reason the website won’t let me. What is your overall impression of the program? Any specific advice you have? Thoughts on the professors?

Pasadena City College RN Program Spring 2020
Thank you, that helps tremendously. I live in Monrovia and with classes being at the Foothill location the drive is 10-15 minutes at most for me. I have seen a number of lists online that claim to rank the ADN programs, and most of them have GCC ranked higher than PCC. The problem with those is I believe they rely heavily on past NCLEX pass rate to rank the schools and don’t take into account factors such as program content, faculty support, facilities, job placement assistance and available resources. From about 2014-16 PCC had much lower pass rates than GCC, most likely accounting for the rankings.

So hard to decide. I feel like they would both be good programs but it’s hard to know which is better. PCC is definitely closer to me but I get the overall feeling that GCC might be a little better. Does anyone else have any thoughts on it? I already accepted GCC but with the shorter drive I’m tempted to accept PCC. Honestly, I never though I would be in the position of having a choice. I feel very blessed and hope that everyone else in here gets an acceptance.

Thanks. I saw you on the GCC thread as well. Have you chosen where to attend? I’m trying to decide. I can’t find much information about either in terms of rankings or the programs.

I received notification today that I was accepted into the program For spring 2020, super excited. I had 83 points on my application. Between PCC and GCC, does anyone know which is the better program?
