I just realized that I am unable to send private messages. Here is my recommendation. Find past UCSF MEPN groups on the facebook, join the group, and ask questions when you make into the program. Ask as many questions as possible before making your final decision. If I can go back to the past, this is what I would do. Everyone's situation is different and do not want to leave a biased review about the program on this thread.

I can open a whole new thread about this issue. Medicine still has a hierarchical culture and I do face the stigma of "poorly educated" compared to MD colleagues. I can argue about this all day but my point is, ask yourself why you want this profession instead of others.

I was a MEPN. It seems like the MPEN program gets more competitive each year and some of you are definitely overqualified. If you think you are overqualified, consider med schools, too. You may be unhappy during the program because of stigma and limitations. The program is as almost long as the med program. Before joining the program, know why you want to be a NP, not a MD.
