  1. @dines I'm in the program now ? you just need your BLS Good luck!
  2. I don’t think they send out rejection letters. I also heard that they don’t get to go through all of the applications, so even if your grades are incredible they may not have the ability to see that. I heard that they are still interviewing though. I also know people who’ve gotten in really last minute. Good luck!
  3. Hi @deevee7 I got in and my undergrad GPA wasn't so stellar. However, my prereq GPA was high. My advice would be to retake the prereqs you did badly in and get your physical science GPA up. They LOVE to see upward trends. If you fix those classes, and possibly take some more in the meantime (whatever you can do to get that GPA up,) and explain your situation in your personal statement, you would have a SIGNIFICANTLY greater chance of getting accepted. Good luck! ?
  4. Hi guys! I am humbled and blessed to say that I just got accepted to the program! If anyone has any questions about my application or the interview process at all, feel free to ask! Rooting for you all!
  5. Someone from the admissions department told me that they received over 800 applications.
  6. Hi everyone! For those granted an interview- did you just receive a call, or was an email sent to you as well? I receive a lot of calls for unknown numbers and I'm scared I'm going to miss it. Which number should I be looking out for? If I'm not a candidate, would I have received a rejection letter by now? This waiting game is nerve-wracking.
  7. @ToBeANurse I think so because it’s considered a college level math, but you should call to make sure. Admissions is usually pretty responsive on the phone. The algebra CLEP wasn’t so difficult. I got a 87 and studied for a week. If you took the TEAS you know they basics. And with CLEPS you just need to pass (over a 50 I believe)
  8. @ToBeANurse yupp I took the Algebra CLEP and statistics DSST
  9. @NurseDan was your application forwarded to the committee? I'm having the same issue as well. I think they're going in the order the applications were received. I was told the submission date wouldn't affect admissions, so that's a bit of a bummer.
  10. @lobo92 Thank you for elaborating on the interview process! Can you give some examples as to what specific questions were asked?
  11. Does anyone know about how many people applied this term and how many students the upcoming class will hold? (aka acceptance rate)
  12. @machamurse are you sure that it's first come first serve? I was told that it wasn't and now feel a bit nervous because I submitted my application the week before the deadline.
  13. Hi Everyone ! I’m still missing the math and statistics prerequisites. I registered for Algebra with CLEP but they do not provide you with an option to select a date in advance. I wanted to show proof that I registered with the date. Any suggestions? it seems as though you cannot register for DSST in advance at all. So I can’t even show proof of registration.
  14. Hi! I know people who got into Downstate with a TEAS science score in the 70's. I was told by a past applicant that the science score isn't weighed in that heavily when considered for admissions. Meaning if you have a good overall application, you are good. If not, you can use a higher science score to your advantage. Best of luck!
  15. Hi guys! What are your backup programs if not admitted to Downstate? Are there any that are similar in price, program length, admission requirements, and location? Good luck to you all!
