  1. Just sent my request to join the group ?
  2. Jan 8th, same here. Perhaps the girl at the uniform store just remembered wrong
  3. @NellBelle714 yeah thats how it is for everyone. You pick the date& time but not the location. Its random, my friend said they could place you anywhere. They should be emailing u soon about the location.
  4. @scasis Well i received the email that told me id be at st joseph on 12/20. Im sure everyone is getting the email on different dates. Im guessing ppl who were accepted first are notified of their clinical site first?
  5. @ramop289 Just to be on the safe side, get shoes that are either totally black or totally white. Thats what the email says. Or you can call them and ask? Also, everyone, I got st joseph hospital at 6:30am on Thursdays. They could place you anywhere in the city tbh . Not everyone will go to the same site
  6. I chose section AA3X. Wednesday with Duyungan, Thursday clinical with Kipnis, and Friday with Huda I've heard to stay away from Dan Okhilua.. lol
  7. @elliema Very true! They are so much cheaper. I usually prefer physical books, I feel like I grasp more information that way. But ebooks are definitely good too
  8. Sorry, @alex ap yes I meant the CCC nursing patch lol oops. I only bought the 4 required books. I'm gonna wait to see if the 2 optional books are worth it. The "Lippincott CoursePoint: Fundamentals of Nursing" is the only book I bought new. I got that from Amazon. My friend in the program right now said its fine to buy used books, and they will actually provide us ATI books when classes start. I got "Pharmacology and the Nursing Process" from biggerbooks.com. Then I got "Calculate with Confidence" & "Nursing Care Plans" from campusbookrentals.com. The CCC bookstore is way too expensive. You can find cheaper books with cheaper shipping fees on other sites. I'm gonna use my old black leather shoes I bought for the CNA course. And definitely recommend going into the store to try on the scrubs, especially if you're petite or on the larger side.
  9. @NellBelle714 I bought mine already. Yes they are navy blue with the MX patch on left sleeve. Don't get them from the ccc bookstore, those are wrong. Idk why they even show them there lol. Go by the email.
  10. Congrats to those who were accepted!!! I asked Malcolm X before, you dont need another TB test unless your professors tell you when classes actually start. Just do the drug test for now. They will send you a website and location to get your scrubs from. Do NOT get them from the ccc bookstore. I also suggest physically going into the oak lawn store location to try them on, especially if you're a bit larger or petite. The books required are also cheaper on other websites . The bookstore is very expensive.
  11. @scasis Yes I can see the books we need in the ccc online bookstore. I think they only appear once you enroll in the class. We also got an email with the approved vendor for scrubs. Dont get them thru the bookstore because we need that patch on the sleeve. Only the vendor can attach that
  12. @scasis Yeah, ur definitely gonna have to retake it otherwise they probably won't count it and that could screw up your application ? I'm not sure if you'd have to pay again, but I feel like you would have to. Call MX today or Monday and find out
  13. @Lorax I've been accepted. I was also confused about that TB & Drug test email, so I called MX and asked if we already did our TB test, should we redo it? She said no, just wait until class starts to see if they need you to redo it. But 100% do the drug test next week (Dec 9th-13th) and submit it by Dec 18th. You can call them just double check though. Don't be afraid to bombard their phone with questions lol thats what I do. They're not really clear sometimes, so call as much as you need. Better safe than sorry.
  14. @scasis Yes I know they've accepted 2 so far, not sure how many people in total tho. I think in the info session they said they're accepting less than 100 for spring. They accept more students in the fall.
  15. Oh & for everyone who completed everything already but it still shows as incomplete.. keep bugging them. Call/email as much as you need. My friend in the program right now said they are very unorganized. I'm pretty sure they just still haven't gotten around to updating everyones application yet, ugh. Don't lose hope yet! Just keep bugging them and checking your application, be persistent.
  16. I called MXC a while back, they said they'd inform people of acceptance starting Nov 18th. But to my knowledge, they already accepted a few students! According to old threads I read, some people were accepted as late as early-mid December. GUYS!!! Make sure you check your selective application a lot!! They will send you an email a decision has been made & to check your application , but sometimes they dont. So check ur application every day just in case . You will have to go into your portal to physically click accept or decline the offer of acceptance!!! And theres a deadline shown to accept it in the selective application, so click accept as soon as you see it. Good luck to everyone ?
  17. I received that email too. Its probably best to just ignore it and stick to the 11/15 deadline. That seems really odd, especially since ******* said she doesn't know who sent it.
  18. @Steve Same. On castlebranch, all my medical documents show as complete in castle branch (except the drug test). But when I log into my student portal and go to selective applications, I still see my medical documents as incomplete. I emailed Lashonda from admissions, she said that the nursing office is still reviewing medical documents. I guess that means they just haven't gotten around to updating our applications yet. But all my other stuff is complete (TEAS, background check, etc)
  19. Hello everyone, I have also applied to Malcolm X's nursing program for Spring 2020. I have everything completed, except the drug test. I've been instructed to wait until I am officially accepted to do the drug test. Did they tell you guys that as well or you guys already complete the drug test? Thanks!
