I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia several years ago and have been recently accepted for disability. I have always wanted to be a Nurse since I was in my late teens. Im gonna be thirty this year and Im worried about starting out as a freshman and doing well in all my classes. I can only pursue this now because I have the time thanks to Disability. Im just worried my diagnosis might be used against me and I may be alienatef among my peer groups. I seek treatment and Im not alone in my diagnosis, but when it comes to being a Nurse I am. My Mom's a CNA and no one in my family ever attained a degree of any kind. Just a class or two here or there to receive some kind of accredation. Is my anxiety overblown ? I also hope I get accepted into the four year School near me, last time I was accepted I couldnt go because between work, School and commuting on the bus I wouldnt have time. I reapplied the next semester, wrote up a crumby recommendation later for a friend and was denied. Please, i feel like im looking for some attention and someone who can tell me it has been done before. Im on a fixed income and still have dreams of one day owning my own house and supporting a three person family with the love of my life I havent met yet.
