  1. Don't stress about what shows up or doesn't on your status screen. If you've been in contact with admissions via chat and they have confirmed that everything is in place, then you're good to go. My BLS certification and 3 transcripts never showed up on my status screen. Good luck!
  2. Yes, according to https://nursing.rutgers.edu/orientation/ the date for Camden orientation is TBA.
  3. Sorry about that. It's actually called "My Enrollment". They were the first two listed widgets after my profile info. Yes, I ordered my background check and scheduled my drug screening.
  4. You're correct, orientation for the ABSN is on Dec 11th. Graduate program orientations are on the 8th. As for e-mails, I never received a formal acceptance letter e-mail. I was accepted on Friday and on Wednesday received a "Welcome to RUSON" e-mail. So if you've been accepted, it may take a few (business) days for the welcome e-mail to reach you. If you've set up your NetID, check your myRutgers portal for Required and Recommended Admissions widgets. These will provide some to-do checklists. I had to reach out to campus IT because these widgets were not loading properly, but they were able to fix them within a day.
  5. Stay positive! Admissions staff often want to see improvement in grades and your 4.0 in your prereqs demonstrates that well. @krism is also correct that prereq GPA tend to more heavily weighted than undergrad GPA. Spend a good chunk of time on your essay as well and really dig into why nursing? why you? and why Rutgers? I received some good advice on the first draft of my essay which said that I did a good job of making a case for why Rutgers? and less of a good job about why me? Schools know their strengths, but they don't know you. They also want to see that you know what you're getting into. Good luck!
  6. Yes, I was able to activate my NetID online. I haven't received any e-mails from the school yet except a receipt for my enrollment fee. @merc12 Can you share all the info about any requirements needed to complete before the semester starts? Thanks
  7. I submitted the app on Sept 29th and my BLS on Oct 5th. A couple of my transcripts never arrived, so I had to request them a second time in early October. Interestingly they never showed up on my status page, so I had to confirm via chat with nursing admissions that they were in fact received.
  8. Undergrad BS, GPA 3.36 Grad MS, GPA 3.91 Prereqs 4.00 The only experience I have is 20 years ago in high school, volunteering at a nursing home.
  9. I'm a new applicant.
  10. I got in! No e-mail yet, but my application status finally updated. Best of luck to everyone else on this thread!
  11. According to the admissions staff, current tuition is $476/credit and the total ABSN is 62 credits. Once you add in fees, books, etc. they estimate a total of about $38K for the entire 14 month program.
  12. Awesome news! Congratulations!
  13. I participated in an online info session for Rutgers ABSN program and thought I would share some of the important points. Some of this information is the same as previous semesters but some is new. One big change this year is that the program is no longer offered at the New Brunswick campus. This means that instead of ~50-60 students being accepted at each campus, now there will be ~100-110 students accepted each semester (Spring and Summer) at Newark, out of approximately 300 applicants. Note: Camden also continues to offer an ABSN program. In terms of the application, your science prereq GPA is critical. This includes your grades for A&P I and II, Microbiology, and Gen Chem II or Organic Biochemistry. This GPA should be >3.0, and specifically A&P I and II grades must be B or higher. These courses must be completed within the past 10 years. All other prereqs- Nutrition, Lifespan and Development (can be substituted with a CLEP score of 50 or higher), and Statistics can be taken anytime. As for your previous Bachelor’s degree, they want to see a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher, although this isn't a strict requirement. Even though the website says the school can’t review individual coursework to determine if you have completed the prereqs, if you have questions about whether your prior classes will be accepted, you can try e-mailing the admissions staff. The personal statement is also weighted highly, although the term “a holistic approach” to reviewing the application was mentioned a few times. Given that the application doesn’t require past health experience or letters of recommendation, grades and the personal statement are pretty much all that’s left. Maybe current students can offer more information on their application experiences. As for COVID-19, currently the Fall semester is being taught online and the students have limited clinical experiences with several restrictions. She didn’t elaborate on that. They are awaiting state guidelines for the Spring semester. This will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Online classes would certainly be easier to deal with schedule-wise, but I wonder if waiting another semester to apply makes more sense.
