Hello, and congratulations! I have received a few inbox messages, so I figured I would reply to this thread. How would you describe the faculty's attitude toward student success? Do they go out of their way to help students succeed in the program? Professor wants you to pass. They see your success as their success. If you need help, you just have to ask. Understandably, people do fail occasionally, but is it an accepted norm to fail a nursing exam? Failure is not the accepted norm. Most test class averages that I have seen (the professors will tell you after each exam) are in the high 80s. My advice, don't compare grades because people fib, and don't beat yourself up over Bs. I went from hardly ever studying and pulling As to studying like crazy to get A- and B+. The biggest thing is, don't fall behind; stay on top of your work. Are the classes filled with repeating students, or is it rare to have a classmate who failed and is now repeating the course with students who started in a later semester? I don't know anyone who failed a class. I know a few people who came close, but the professor will work with you. Your cohort will also be your saving grace. My other advice would be to set a helpful tone with them, get to know them. You are going to go through something challenging together, so lean on each other. My cohort is very open to helping each other. We are constantly sharing notes, our knowledge, or just an ear to listen. If you are sinking, and you have a strong bond with your cohort, they will keep your head above the water. Are classes online? Classes for next semester are mostly remote (online but not pre-recorded) except Lab and clinical. Questions about the schedule. You get it after orientation. The first semester the schedule is made for you. It was kind of a mess, 4-5 days a week, but it gets better. It's only because you have all the labs that it will look overwhelming at first.

There was no interview. I would say that you may want to get the other classes out of the way instead of getting the CNA. I thought about doing the CNA but decided to take courses the fall before, and I think it was a better decision. Good luck!

Just spoke to Flynn's and they said the uniforms will not be shipped out until some time next week.

I took the uniform to a seamstress. I had to have the pants taken up and the shirt taken in. I will have it all done by Saturday.

2-3 weeks

All they have is XXXL top. I got the XXXL and I am going to take it in. I figure it's better than having nothing.

They had no tops in stock.

I went today and they had the pants in stock. The shirts had to be ordered they said 2 weeks. Hopefully, it comes in time.

I rented it

The professor sent us an email about the textbook. You can order from the publisher, it's cheaper.

I uploaded titers results and they accepted them.

I wrote on mine "cohort B" with no preference for any hospital. They put me in cohort A. I suppose a lot of people wanted B. ?‍♀️ I got Syosset Hospital

I believe it will be listed in Oasis, registration, under student schedule. I think they are waiting for 10 DEU people to be selected first, then they will begin registering people. I am thinking it will be sometime next week.

I have the school email set up, but I have not received anything yet about registration.

I think we will get al the Castle Branch information tomorrow at orientation.

Did that information come from the nursing department or admissions? If we have to pay $110 for orientation where do we pay that? A few people here got emails about the Dec 5th orientation. Did that specify paying before attending? The online orientation is $50 I am curious about what is $110. I am wondering if the Dec 5th orientation is $110 and we do not need the online one or is that the combination of the two. Instructions unclear, me confused ?

I think its relatively new the online orientation. It never worked, so I never did it. ?‍♀️

Was it an online orientation? I don't have access to the "Accepted Student Portal". I think because I am already a student.

I didn't sign up for orientation. FSC_nursing Instagram page posted that orientation will be on December 5th at 11 am-2 pm in Roosevelt Hall 111 I just looked at the packet. I am not doing that orientation, the online one. I paid for that when I came to college last year, and it never worked. I asked on the Instagram page if we have to sign up for the Dec 5th orientation. I am thinking they will be sending an email soon. From the Instagram page, "you should have received an email to RSVP to the orientation, if you didn’t you might be getting it soon. But if you’d like you can send an email to [email protected] to confirm and we will mark you down. ?"
