I don’t think there’s any updates because no one has any updates. Everyone was told that they got selected and now everybody’s waiting to find out next steps

Cool, I was just trying to figure out the timeline for an officer reservist in the exact same MOS. Did your recruiter give you an idea of when you might be leaving to your new station? Feb 3rd is the "projected" accession date for us, so hopefully right after that.

Did anyone get any information regarding what specialty they were selected for and when you might hear about base selection, etc.? @rteen Are you currently a NC officer in the reserves?

My husband finally called from work - he’s in! Thank goodness because our lives have been on hold waiting for this decision

Hey, you put yourself out there as a newb and that’s the best you could do. The good news is that now you understand the process and can prepare better next year. I strongly suggest getting into a critical care setting since they tend to like that in a candidate, even if you are just applying for med-surg. I agree with @Jessica73 though, don’t do the Navy just because it’s the next soonest board. If you want AF, spend a year getting experience and come back stronger next year. And definitely work on volunteer hours and leadership opportunities, that’s what the AF is looking for in an officer candidate.

I’m not the one applying - my husband is. But he’s at work and really could care less either way, so I haven’t heard from him ?

Just curious if anyone has gotten an update from their recruiter? It seems that there are several different versions of the situation going around. We were told mid November, others were told last Friday, some have been told their recruiter has no clue what’s happening.

What do you mean your package is "gtg"? Your recruiter should have submitted your package back in September. If you're doing an oath, than you are already selected. Your message is very confusing. Most folks on this board are waiting to hear if they have been selected.

Jeez, it so frustrating having a hundred different stories about release date.

It seems strange that nobody has any information.

Seeing as the recruiter was the one to reach out to us and tell us the information, I would say it's probably true. Otherwise, he'd have no reason to call because we know the game. Don't expect to hear anything until Mid-November. Then if you do hear something sooner, it will be a pleasant surprise.

My husband just got a call. We won't be hearing anything until mid November or even the end of November. He was told that they still don't even have the actual numbers, just projected, so no selections have been made and won't be until they know exactly how many people they need.

Piggybacking off Jessica - My husband said that the budget is already decided last year as well as the rating system for this year's applicants, so those don't seem like likely reasons. He also hasn't been notified of any other delays.

Just so you know, this is classic military..it truly is a "hurry up and wait" way of life. You won't know anything and you will just always need to be prepared for the inevitable. I've been a military spouse for quite a while and my husband has been in the service for 13 years. You aren't told anything until they feel it's the right time and they usually don't touch base with you while you wait. And this isn't just in regards to your recruiter experience - that's just the first taste of military life. This sort of anticipation and limbo will be your entire military career. If you are the kind of person who needs to know all the details and have things planned out ahead of time, you probably won't like the military. I was like that but have had to adjust because I'm married to it. Our family is currently waiting on these board results to see if we will be moving back to active duty nursing from reserves, so I understand the frustration in not knowing. Being in the military is really just having to find the positive in every situation, even waiting.
