  1. Hi there! Yes, I was #8 on the waitlist. I can empathize with your disappointment as I felt that, too, but also realized that out of all applicants, I was that much closer to being accepted versus hearing a "no." I got my acceptance in March, so the wait from January until then was stressful. I'm not sure of your situation, but I only applied to UT as my husband's job is based here in Austin so moving to another state or city was not something we could accommodate. There are two-week periods for those who got accepted to officially accept their admission. For us, it always ended on a Friday so I would email Tracy the following Monday and ask for an update on my new place on the waitlist. She does not mind and understands that we have lives outside of this program (family, moving, jobs, etc). I went through two admission acceptance rounds and got an email from Tracy that I was accepted. That was the best day. My advice, although it is understandably difficult and stressful, keep your hope alive and positive thinking. Remember why you want this and your passion to enter the field of Nursing. It is easy to get negative and feel very unsure, but I am hopeful for you! #7 is a good place and also remember, you made it incredibly far out of everyone who applied!
  2. Of course!
  3. Hi, everyone! I am in the AE-MSN 2020 cohort at UT-Austin. First, I am so excited for you all and for the journey that led you to the program. I can completely relate to how you all are feeling right now, what a whirlwind of emotions, right? Being in the LeaDS track, I thought I could provide some insight/advice regarding the interview. First, each track is different on who interviews you and what type of questions you are asked. For me, I echo what others who recently had their LeaDS interview have stated. That is exactly what I was asked. I would certainly have a clear description on why you chose AE-MSN versus an accelerated BSN program, and refrain from saying "because I already have a Bachelors." Think, what differentiates this program from an accelerated BSN, and respectively, what can you do with an MSN versus a BSN? Other than that, make good eye contact, dress professionally, and I would say smile but the mask unfortunately will hide that. Smile under it! Most importantly, be yourself. The professors are really kind, made me feel comfortable and so much less nervous. They truly do want to see who you are holistically, not just who you are on your resume/CV. We all come from a different background and I believe that is what makes the AE-MSN program so unique.
  4. Hi, everyone! I am starting the AE-MSN program this June and am curious, what shoes did you find the best luck with in being compliant? I am having the hardest time finding a comfortable shoe that also meets the requirements.
  5. I just requested to join the group, I am Kimberly S-Borger ?
  6. Thank you so much! I was so happy to hear the news and share it, can't wait to meet everyone. I will join the facebook group, have not done that yet ? Thank you so much! ? Very excited to begin this journey. I did see Tracy's e-mail, I hope that classes will not be postponed and that the spread will cease. It is making me nervous though.
  7. Hi everyone! Hope all is well with you all ? I wanted to share that I got the official email of admittance to LeaDS this morning and I accepted. Thank you all for reading my countless posts over these few months, your encouragement, and letting me share in the anticipation of this program. Can’t wait to meet you!
  8. I hope to know soon, can’t believe it’s already March. Oh WOW!, that’s amazing! Congratulations on your acceptance to LeaDS! Was that today? Were you in Dr. Norris’ Microbiology Fall 2019? I recognize your name, we talked a few times about the program ? I miss that class. I meant to ask you how your interview went but we finished the final at different times. That is a tough decision and sounds like you have a great plan whichever route you take.
  9. I hope so! Did Tracy say what number you were on the waitlist? I chose LeaDS because I want to work in public health, namely creating community interventions and working with underserved communities. Just the thought gives me the excited butterflies. I know you said you applied for CNS, what do you want to specialize in?
  10. I checked My Status and my LeaDS is still in review, too. Tracy just e-mailed and said I’m #1 on the waitlist now and admissions will close at the end of March. I feel like my head is just above water and I’m treading...the wait is challenging!
  11. Hi all! Any fellow waitlist-ers have an update?
  12. Oh, I’m sorry! I remember you saying that was your top choice. It is amazing how far you made it, knowing the very limited seats and selectivity. I know you were a remarkable candidate, which is evident in you being accepted to other amazing schools. Do you know which way you’re leaning now?
  13. Not yet, I am waiting until (possible) acceptance. Chances are becoming more slim these days. P.S. I remember you mentioned not e-mailing Tracy for an update on your PMHNP waitlist status. From what I understand, she didn't want e-mails prior to official decisions going out. Unless she said something different to PMHNP candidates? I have e-mailed three times between January and February and she has been very responsive and helpful. Not sure if that will help ease your wait, but knowing where you stand on the waitlist has been helpful for me at least in regards to planning.
  14. Not yet, still waiting to hear back for LeaDS, number two on the waitlist. Hoping to hear good news, UT is the only place I applied and LeaDS is my dream. What about you?
  15. That is understandable, the seat amount is so small, I hope you hear something very soon!
  16. That’s good to know, I’ve heard of other schools requiring a deposit so UT helps it be less stressful in that regard with your decision and if something happens to come up prior to the program. Have you emailed Tracy about your PMHNP waitlist spot? I know those are far more limited than LeaDS and maybe less movement.
  17. I do, too, I need to stop checking so much. That’s amazing you were accepted into a PMHNP program! Congratulations! I’m curious since I’ve obviously not received an acceptance email- if you officially accepted, can you go back and say “no?” Thank you! I really, really hope so! LeaDS is my dream, as well as UT.
  18. Yes, completely agree! It’s been taxing and defeating. Are you on the waitlist or have been accepted?
  19. Yes, but another waiting game, I’m a bit spent to be honest. Now, those admitted from the waitlist have to accept or deny, not sure what my chances are now.
  20. Hi everyone, Not sure who on here is on the LeaDS waitlist but I e-mailed Tracy this afternoon to ask if there was a shift in spots. I was originally #8, as of today, I’m #2. Sounds like whatever your number, it moved up 6 spots. Not sure where it goes from here, we’ll see.
  21. Wishing you the best as well! When/if you hear back from her, can you update?
  22. Thank you for asking her, I was going to email!
  23. Sorry for all of my posts, getting so antsy over here since at least one person has been admitted from the waitlist...
  24. She was lucky number one!
  25. Did anyone else on the waitlist (any concentration) get an email about acceptance this evening?
