From what I gathered, it was in person for new students, but if you are an alternate or a returning Nur 111 student, then it would be online. I thought they were going to send out that RSVP thing last week, but haven’t heard anything from AJS since that email.

Are you going to be working that much once school starts? And the drug dosage calculations are pretty repetitive. It mostly shows you like 4 different ways to solve the same type of problem. Also, can’t wait to meet everyone (from a distance of course LOL) at orientation!

Since I was an alternate last semester, everything is already done for me haha just took my drug test yesterday so I’m all done. I do need to redo my CPR though since it expires in October. What have y’all been doing to stay busy since quarantine?

I mean do you definitely know what size you are? I know the uniforms take a bit to come in once you order them. So if you definitely know the size then I’m sure it couldn’t hurt to order early. But unless they have posted that we need to on the gateway site then you can wait until after orientation.

It’s super weird though. You’ll still have to upload, but you’ll have access to the files that you had uploaded before. So you can download them and re-upload. That’s what I had to do.

I was an alternate last semester since I hadn’t finished micro or sociology, but I remember them saying that if you took your CNA through wake tech and had already uploaded stuff to castlebranch, they would merge the two together so you’ll have access to both.

Did y’all do your CNA through wake tech? Also I’m definitely getting my scrub bottoms elsewhere just to save money.

I’m 99% sure you have to get the top from WTCC, but you can get the bottoms from somewhere else as long as they are the Cherokee brand I think.

The math book you’ll need is called calculating drug dosages a patient safe approach to nursing and math. The math info is under the nur 11 course information tab and scroll where it says NUR 11 gateway math session preparation! They will give you the rest of the info at orientation, but I guess it never hurts to get a jump start on stuff! Hope that helps!

For normal pre req classes? You can show your tattoos and have nail polish. That doesn’t really matter. Labs will have requirements for like close toe shoes and stuff though. As far as for clinicals once you’re in nursing school, you’d have to cover tattoos and I think no nail polish. Basically how you have to be for your nurse aide clinicals.

I would definitely be sure to take anatomy 1 & 2 before taking the TEAS. I took it twice (once before and after taking A&P) and it was a difference between getting a 84 and a 92 on the TEAS. Attend the nursing information session for sure. They are very helpful at wake tech.

When they add everyone to to the blackboard group then it should have the class supplies

They emailed me back last Friday and said they’d be sending it out at the end of this month. Very odd that people are getting completely different responses from them.

Meaning they haven’t finished ranking or they are just figuring out how they’d even do the orientation or the actual semester?
