  1. @crystal8819 It's different for everyone, but personally, I think the most challenging part about the KNAT was the reading, then the science. Math was a breeze. I prepped by reviewing A&P outlines about a week prior to the exam. I wouldn't bother with the nursing school entrance exam practice books. I had both Kaplan and McGraw Hill and those books did not help me one bit.
  2. Hi, just a quick FYI in case anyone needs CPR certification, the course is available at CSU Health Center on 11/14, 11/22, and 11/27. You can also get titers drawn or your vaccinations there on the same day. As far as the student handbook, it's supposed to be available for download on the CSU Nursing webpage.
  3. My major hasn't changed yet, but the admission letter stated that it should change after they receive your offer acceptance. In regards to living on campus, I don't live on campus, but I have been in a campus apartment before (the ones by the health center) and they are pretty decent. Each BR had its own BA & a shared kitchen/living room. I live in off-campus apartments instead.
  4. Congratulations! Glad everyone got in. Cannot wait to meet you all at orientation.
  5. @hoothoot Thank you and no, my major hasn't changed in the DUCK yet so I still can't register for courses. Hopefully, they'll change it soon.
  6. I just got the acceptance letter today. Good luck, everyone!
  7. Good luck, everyone! Keep me updated if you guys receive any correspondence. I will do the same ?
  8. @egrace44 Hey, from what I've read from previous forums, unlike other schools, the CSU interview doesn't seem to weigh as much as the following factors: GPA overall/science and KNAT score. Unless this has changed, based on those factors itself, you should be good. Everyone gets a bit nervous, so I wouldn't worry too much unless you raised red flags. According to their website, you'd have the best chance of getting in. But it's always best to still have a backup plan regardless, such as applying to other nursing schools or a backup profession ? P.S. It seems interviews concluded last week and we should be getting answers soon enough!! Plus interviews ended earlier than previous semesters, so hopefully, this means there weren't as many applicants to choose from?
  9. @hoothoot I also only applied to CSU. Thanks for the information. I'll probably wait 2 weeks before contacting them then. I wonder if they do acceptances on a rolling basis or they wait until after all interviews to decide on who to accept.
  10. @Thrive123I have also read that they don't re-interview and that they base it off the last interview. I think I'll call next week and ask about when rejection/acceptance letters are sent out. I'm a planner so I don't like the suspense; I rather expect it coming, lol.
  11. I'm excited! But there's still about a month left before we get notified about rejection or acceptance. Plus they do it by snail mail, not e-mail ☹️ Did you guys both go to CSU for your cores? Are are you guys applying to this nursing program from another school?
  12. Welcome @hoothoot! Those are some pretty well-rounded stats! Did any of you apply to any other schools besides CSU?
  13. They have started interviews and I was invited for one via phone call (in other words, make sure you pick up your phone!!!). Notifications are sent via mail, whether it be an acceptance or rejection letter. Rejection letters go out sooner at the end of October and I believe acceptance letters go out mid-November. Good luck!!
  14. Thanks for sharing! I knew someone who applied 3 or 4 times to CSU's nursing program before actually getting in. I recently met a few PA students who are starting PA school this fall that did not get in on their first try. It took some of them 2-3 application cycles to finally get in, despite them having high GPAs. I also know someone who scored well on the MCAT with good grades, but did not get into med school. Sometimes it just depends on your luck whether you get a seat or not because the seats are so limited compared to the pool size of applicants they receive. So hang in there and think positive! ?
  15. I haven't heard anything yet, but I know they start interviewing around October. All my pre-req's are completed and this will be my 2nd application cycle for CSU; the first time I was rejected around 10/28 due to me not meeting the GPA min. I have never applied to any other nursing schools but may consider looking into an accelerated BSN if CSU doesn't work out. Overall GPA: 3.27 Pre-req GPA: 2.89 KNAT Score: 81
