NJ Compact License
Hi everyone, I am applying for my compact license (NJ as my home state). I already have a NJ RN license that is current. Do I need to still get fingerprints? How do I go about this? Thank you

Maternity Case Workers?
Hello everyone, I'm interested in becoming a maternity case worker but I'm not sure where to start. I've Googled, gone on Glassdoor, gone on insurance employment sites and haven't seen anything at all. Am I looking in the wrong places? Any tips? Also, those with this kind of job, could you share any tips, highs/lows/, pros/cons? Thank you

NJ RN last name change help
Hey! It took about 3 weeks after I let them know I uploaded the required documents for them to send me an updated license. I'm sorry they're giving you the run around but I only spoke with them that 1 time.

NJ RN last name change help
Hello everyone! I started the process of changing my last name due to marriage. Every time I log into NJBON site and into my license portal I don't see an option to update my name. I only see an option to update my address. Has anyone had any recent experience doing this? Thank you in advance!

Should I take a chance?
Thank you so much for your response! I agree! I am VERY fortunate to be on my current unit. I admit I'm afraid of being 'stuck' on medsurg. That's probably why I'm considering an early crossover. For now, I'm just going to learn about the position a bit more and go from there. Thank you again for taking the time to respond.

Should I take a chance?
Hi everyone! I am a new nurse working on a medsurg unit. I have only been in my current position for 3 months. Medsurg is not my passion but I do recognize it can give me a good foundation in nursing. On a whim, I applied to a maternity RN position and got a call back for a phone interview. The maternity position is part time but they will train me in mother baby, l&d and nicu. Maternity is originally where I wanted to start out in but it was so hard to tap into. My current unit staff has been very supportive and not toxic. They work as a team and have been very helpful in my learning process. I know that sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side but I feel conflicted.

Are there any maternity nursing jobs that are away from the bedside?
Hello everyone, I'm just curious if there are any maternity nursing opportunities that are not at the bedside. I know that you can do almost anything with nursing but I'm not sure if this is a stretch.

Nurse Navigator Offer vs Inpatient experience for first job
I see where you're coming from! It's just that I'm seeing that per diem jobs require inpatient experience already. I just graduated and passed my boards recently so I think it would be difficult to secure a per diem too.

Nurse Navigator Offer vs Inpatient experience for first job
Hello and thank you for this response! I'm thinking about turning it down for an inpatient position. I think it would be smarter to get a year or two of inpatient experience and then transition to a case management job. Thank you for your thoughts!

Nurse Navigator Offer vs Inpatient experience for first job
Hello! I am considering a job opportunity as a nurse navigator for infectious disease at a hospital. The more I read about what a nurse navigator does it seems more like case management. Infectious disease does interest me but I'm concerned that this job would make it harder for me to transfer into inpatient nursing in the future because of my lack of hands on skills with patients. Does anyone have any advice? Should I also pick up a per diem job? Thank you!

Rutgers ABSN Spring 2020
Hey! I went to the Rutgers immunization portal and uploaded my lab work. It is still pending. Check out this link : http://health.rutgers.edu/medical-counseling-services/medical/immunization-requirements-allergy-shots/ It gives you what is required...or at least that is what I am going with since we haven't got much to work with.
