  1. @Chanster Possibly. We'll see!
  2. Hello! For me it was actually a multitude of factors. I didn't find the material as interesting as I thought it would be, the program is pretty disorganized on the RCC side, a nauseating amount of reading in which you'll only be tested on few a concepts, a lot of busy work that's scrutinized for completion that doesn't affect your grade at the end, and my inability to manage my working/personal life with nursing school. On top of that, I'm looking five and ten years into the future. I have injuries from sports in the past and this job is physically demanding. Too many people on AllNurses/Reddit complain of sore joints, being mentally fatigued, emotionally destroyed, and disrespected beyond measure. I like science, but with nursing you'll be capped out in doing so much in a hospital compared to a doctor, so you'll always have a critical role but will always be a subordinate. I wanted this career for the flexible schedule, pay, and job security but in the long run I feel that there are more important and critical things to take account of. Please don't take this as a Debbie-downer. This is a decision I made as I believe it was for my own best benefit. Maybe I'll regret it in ten years, who knows? If you do get in, CONGRATS! I'm sure you'll beast it!
  3. Hello all, I was accepted into RCC CEP for Spring 2020 but decided to leave in finding out this late that this is not what I want to do. If you are tall (5'11 -6'0) and have wide chest and back (L) and got accepted to the CEP program (the scrub shirt has a patch) please private message me. I'd be willing to sell you the uniform at a discount than what they will be offering you.
  4. Was there a course code given out for the Ricci, Pediatric Nursing book? Trying to do Prep U...
  5. What's the name of the file rubric that we need for Seminar to grade our partner's passport? I can't find it and need to print like 30 of them right about now.
  6. Unless I'm seeing something wrong, are the Taylor and Lynn books the exact same text?
  7. What page is the SON Agreement in the handbook? The page that we have to sign and fill out.
  8. Probably a really dumb rookie question but do we need to have the passport completed for Week 1 by Tuesday? Tuesdays/Wednesdays this week are in uniform, no? I'm still waiting for that... and my supply bag!!!
  9. We need a Math book?! Do you happen to have a list of all the books, author by author, that we need? The Excel sheet that I have just says Lippencott and Elsevier bundle.
  10. Do we need the jacket for scrubs? I got a call from Dove Apparel saying they were out. So far I have only purchased the scrubs shirt and pants.
  11. Does anyone know how long it'll take to get the supply bag? I'm short on cash and it's hard for me to pay for anything at the moment.
  12. CEP people - Does anyone know when are we actually enrolled in HA and when are we actually eligible to pay for the class tuition wise?
  13. On the topic of rolling bags, which kit are we supposed to get from this store: https://www.legendmedical.us/nursing-education And if we don't have to get the rolling bag that they recommend, what supplies or materials would we need to have ready by day 1 of lab/clinical? Also, does anyone know if they actually had a makeup day for ID badges? I wasn't there for intake day?
  14. Wait, I thought Angie/Maritza said they would collect the transcripts we've already sent to RCC for processing? Do you also happen to know when we're going to be meeting the HA course?
  15. CEP PEOPLE: Can someone please breakdown the schedule for NRN11 and NRN11A? I'm getting dyslexia reading my notes cause I'm hearing two different things. Which days do we wear our uniforms? I haven't gotten mine at all... For HA at CSUSB are we only meeting Fridays? virtually and in person for the entire semester?
  16. Kind of a retro active question since I've already been accepted but would it be better to just do the ADN as opposed to the CEP? I've seen some online sites like UT Arlington who offer the ADN to BSN program for like under $10k while the CSUSB portion of the degree is well over $25k based on my calculation. Also, if I'm not mistaken we can also work as an RN after we've passed NCLEX and ADN requirements right? BSN is only designated by some hospitals?
  17. That sort of made sense but was there a description sent from Steve/SON that says what this Elsevier Bundle is? How many books are there in total? Are previous editions satisfactory?
  18. I clicked the link to buy the course materials on Lippincott but there's a blank page when I try to type the information in. Also, are you guys saying we can buy a used version from both these two bundles? Should I really just wait til Bootcamp comes around to buy all my stuff? Thanks!
  19. Does anyone know if the fitting of the scrubs from Dove Apparel is slim fit or standard fit?
  20. Of course on the "already being an employee" part for tuition reimbursement. Technically once we have an ADN and pass the NCLEX are are presumably already working we can have the remainder of our CEO tuition partially covered by the hospital/clinic if applicable, no?
  21. Just so I don't get my hopes up I want to ask this now: 1) There's absolutely no way we can take even a two week vacation during nursing school (even during the intersessions) 2) Is it possible to have the hospital you will eventually work for pay for part of your tuition after you finish NCLEX? I might have to quit my day job but won't til I figure out how rough the first semester will be. Thanks!
  22. How do I delete previously entered info on Complio? Apparently I the titer for MMR was denied because it should've been dated before my initial shots. There's no delete option. Kathy hasn't responded yet. AND DAMN....$1200 FOR A TEXTBOOK?!?!?!
  23. Missed intake day on December 16th. I specifically told Alexis that I would be gone for all of December and I get with a major miss. Did we cover anything major?
  24. A couple of questions to the peeps who got in: 1) Does BOG waiver still cover nursing tuition for the classes that are at RCC? BONUS: I'm terrible at math, but if my calculations are correct and BOGW is taken into consideration, is the CEP program total to about... $16,000? 2) Is there a time frame as to when CSUSB will be sending out their formal application where we have to send out all the stuff that we need to send per Alex/S? 3)Do you plan to hold a PT/FT job while going to school? Really debating hard if I should just quit my 9-5 that I loathe so much but actually pays my bills. On the plus side my boss is really cool and really doesn't care what I do as long as my work gets done.
