I know it's not super clear with what they sent on d2l. So basically just go to myuofc website and check your schedule for Nurs 289. You will find two different rows in that section. The second row in that section tells you about the practicum which will take place on campus which is pretty straightforward. However the first row, it says TBD and TBA for location and time because that's your clinical placement off campus which they will eventually let you know. Now here is the important part, in the same row you will find the days on which the off campus practicum is taking placing. Mine says Monday, Tuesday and Friday. So if you check the schedule they posted on D2L I should be in blue team. If you are in green team then it should show Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Blue team should get Thursdays off and green team are getting Mondays off. Hopefully this makes it little clear.

So I just went on my uofc to check tuition fees and I noticed that my admission status went back to tentative admission (yellow mark). Has this happened for anyone else? I haven't recieved any email about it and I can't call them today because I think the office is closed. This is giving me major anxiety, can some one please explain what's happening?

I received this email today from Nursing office talking about the orientation on 9th January. They mentioned admission package in the email, is it different than the acceptance letter we received earlier? Has anyone recieved this admission package yet?

Congrats on your acceptance!!! Just wondering what's the diverse qualifications process? Never heard of it. And yes bring lots of warm clothes because *** hits the fan usually from January to March.

One thing to remember is that these numbers are probably slightly off. I was accepted like a month ago and I didn't know how to enroll in these courses so I just waited very long before I called the admission office to help me out. I was able to enroll in the courses last week, even though I was accepted last month. There might be other people like me who are still figuring out but I really hope that's not the case and hopefully everyone waiting get in. Good luck everyone and I hope you guys hear from them soon!

Tbh if she can retake the anatomy course, she should because it's a full year course which means that she got C's in two normal courses because one full year course equals two half courses. One more A will bring it up but not by a lot, as compared to if she improves her grade in her anatomy course.

Her CGPA turns out to be around 3.54. You can easily calculate it online by googling GPA calculator. That's for the 9 courses you listed but I think she needs to take 10 courses in total. As far as I know 3.54 GPA is not very safe this year, so to be on the safer side she should try her gpa closer to 3.7 if it's possible.

Well the email they sent out says early January. So I guess first week of January?

I went to see the Nursing advisor today and she said they haven't come up with the exact dates yet.

Hey guys! I was just wondering if someone came across the course outlines for the nursing courses. They usually post it for the past courses on the university of Calgary website, but I don't see anything for the nursing courses. I went all the way back to 2010, but found nothing. I am just curious about how the courses will be structured and stuff. Please let me know if you have them or if you know someone in UofC nursing who could send these course outlines. Thank You!

Hello everyone! If someone is having an issue with enrolling in the courses offered in the Winter semester, try to add all the four courses first and then enroll in them together at the same time. You can't enroll in those courses individually. Hopefully this helps!

I guess we just wait for the admission package to arrive that tells us what to do. I tried to enroll in some classes but myuofc wouldn't let me.

You don't really need all As or A- to achieve 3.7 gpa or higher. For one of the prerequisite course (Stats), I got a B- in the course and I was still able to pull off 3.77 GPA. It's all about balancing your grade, if you don't do good in one of the courses make sure you do great in other ones. Great way to calculate your GPA is to use this website - https://gpacalculator.net/college-gpa-calculator/ .Put your grades on there with the credits offered by the courses. For the credit section put 3 for half-courses (courses done in one semester) and 6 for a full year course (courses taken in two semesters or longer). Play around with the calculator to see what grades you need to get 3.7 gpa. Hopefully this helps!

This probably means that they are in the midst of updating your status. They finally updated my status from yellow check mark to the green one today. So hopefully it will be done for you guys soon. Also y'all I'm so excited to start this program with you guys, it will be so much fun (and a little bit of hell). Also, I was able to obtain three of the textbooks pdf version because I was just curious to see what we are about to learn, and lets say they don't hold up back, when it comes to human body, which makes sense. Also, I was wondering about the people who were accepted, if they were able to enroll in classes yet or not? thanks!

I took two astronomy courses 207 and 209, online religion studies 201 and 203, Arky 327 (archaeology in popular culture), physics 303 and 371, history of dance, it's a theoretical dance course but don't remember it's number, music 301, 303, 401 and 403. The trick is to see the profs review on rate my prof and decide if they made the course easier or harder. Pick a course that you think sounds easy, check the profs review and past course outlines to make a decision. Good luck!

I took all of these easy option courses at UofC as part of finishing my previous degree there. I'm sure there are also some easy transferable online courses you can do but to be on the safe side always make sure by contacting the nursing department if those courses are applicable to your application or not. Hopefully that helps!

I applied in July I think and the funny thing is I didn't submit my anatomy transcript until it was almost too late. I was taking anatomy from Athabasca and I finished that course on September 10 and obviously the deadline for transcript submission was September 15. So I had to make lots of visits to the admission office and make numerous calls to Athabasca university to make sure they send my transcript on time which they did on September 13. So to be honest, I'm pretty sure that the evaluated my transcripts recently, like yesterday I think and that's also when I got my yellow check mark. Also one thing to note is that I did my previous degree from UofC too, so maybe that's why it went very fast for me, I am still surprised. Also if you have 3.7 GPA you should be hearing from them soon, as long as you have taken all of the necessary prerequisites and submitted all the right transcripts. Like I said there can different factors which explains why you are still waiting, but as long as the GPA is good and all the course requirements are met, you should be fine. I know it is very hard to wait, but with your excellent GPA statistically speaking I wouldn't be worried. So hang tight and hopefully you will receive your letter in next few days.

When they talk about "transferable" courses in this scenario, it pretty much means any university approved courses. So it can be anything, for example, the last 5 courses I took (which equals to 15 credits as one half-course is worth 3 credits) were all options like music, astronomy, religion studies, archaeology and anthropology. All of these courses were GPA boosters option courses. So I do recommend to take easy option courses for your last 5 courses in order to have competitive GPA. Obviously, the other 5 pre-requisite courses are fixed, we have to take them, there are no exceptions.

I received my acceptance letter yesterday. I have the tentative admission sign on myuofc web page, looks like yellow tick mark. The reason for that is I have to submit the deposit of $500. My GPA was around 3.77 when I applied. To be honest, I am surprised that I received the acceptance letter this early because they are not known to do that. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck to everyone waiting for their admission status. Also the deadline to pay the $500 deposit is by October 1, 2019, which doesn't make sense for the people receiving their acceptance letters after that date. Or am I missing something?
