A student just replied on the Nursing page for our class on Instagram and she said that the counselor told her to hold onto the paper and to bring it to class I believe we are just going to give it to our professor. I had a feeling it was probably just a mistake from there end, since there was no place to upload the paper so I would just bring it to class. I am going on the sixth when they open up and I will let the Nursing know that students were unaware of where to upload it just so that they know ahead of time.

Check your emails robin has sent us an email regarding our books, uniforms, etc. I know a lot have been asking questions about the book. we will be wearing our white uniform the first day of class. For our ID picture. Few things to keep in mind our clinical will be fifth week of school you will be assigned either Wednesday or Thursday. A few things to bring to on clinical days are pen, pen light, stethoscope, white watch, white shoes (must be leather) make sure your shoes are comfortable as the shift is going to be long. Clip board with normal values for example hemoglobin all this stuff is mostly sold at Amazon. A note pad to document anything important. Compression socks ? those are optional but nice to have. Uniforms are expected to be at campus around Jan 6. I have the uniforms ahead as my sister is a second semester nursing student.

So we can offer tips and things like that to each other and to inspire other future nursing students? They have to be all black but you can also have them like the converse where the soul of the shoe is white but they don’t have to be leather like the clinical ones do... so you know those regular Nikes people usually wear those would be fine Converse, puma, Adidas, vans etc would be Okay. Just no funky color just black lol

that's the one we need for the first 9 weeks of class, then we have intro to med surg so the book I believe will change. no problem, and they will give us access code from what I know.

yes the book name is fundamentals of nursing by Patricia A. Potter it will be online and in text the online will be with the website Elsevier. :)

That’s true ? time will only show, and yes summer picking up shifts will be a great idea. Beside having a job while school I feel keeps you on tract. No time to waste.

I work on campus at the student success center I am a biology tutor, i’m not an LVN I am coming in straight into the RN program with no medical background That’s good that your job is flexible 20 hours does not sound too bad I think when I first so I’m only gonna do 10 hours only because I want to get used to being in the program.

I thought the first class we take was fundamentals of nursing, Tuesday we got lecture from 7 am to 10:50 am then on Tuesday and Wednesday 8 am to 4:50 we got lab (skills) then during week 4 we start on hospital clinical which you would be assigned either Wednesday or Thursday which is usually in SB or arrowhead and the times would be as follows 6:30 am to 6:50 pm this is usually how it is of course it can change and I do know if like we don't master something like lets say vital when we first start professor would require you to come to extra lab time. and then some of us go to clinical Wednesday but some Thursday this semester first semester students went to sb hospital, this is how it was for my sister she just started this past semester and the times I put up are for our coming soon year jan 2020. I have a different question though I'm a tutor I work a lot of hours but this coming semester when I start nursing school of course I will cut on hours but I do plan to still work at least few hours a week, do any of you plan to work while in school?

Science gpa was a 3.56 and General is 3.55

I just got accepted as well but turned down the offer as I got accepted to San Bernardino valley college nursing this program is much closer to home. I told them to give my spot to the next available student. Wish you all the best of luck and congrats !

No problem your going to do great!!! We will study haha, and also I know a student that was in my micro class he is re-doing the first semester at Valley but they did not kick him out he basically messed up himself but they gave him a second shot. As long as we study, get our care plans done go to clinical you should be fine. For me valley college was always my number one nursing school choice I just got excepted to Azusa pacific and a few other nursing programs and I wouldn’t choose any other school but valley. Last time I made the alternate list I could have went to another nursing school and I said no I will wait until Valley takes me that’s how good of a school it is, The only downfall I would say is that they’re a little disorganized but the director she was really great and all the staff I’ve heard are nice and care for there students education.

Please please choose valley college I have been here for six years taking my prerequisites I’ve heard nothing but good things I’m also the tutor at the student success center I’m not biased because this is the school I graduated from with my AA in biological and physical science it’s because it’s a very good school or a nursing program is very known I’ve heard numerous students that say that hospitals value valley college nurses I’m not saying anything bad about Chaffey, but I would choose valley college with a heartbeat I got invited to take the test at Chaffey. And then I was also invited to take it out valley and I just got excepted to Valley and if I can redo anything I would still choose valley. we are a little disorganized however when some student doesn’t do good we do not try to get rid of our students we will give them a second shot and help them succeed in the program with other schools they basically weed you out if they see that you’re not going to do really good on the Nclex. Choose valley!!! You don’t know how many of my students wish to even get the invite to take the test at Valley let alone get excepted you would be making a huge mistake if you turn down valley !

yes I went in person, she said to reply to the email that we got when we were invited to the program I spoke to robin as long as you reply to the email your good.
