  1. Yes I feel it does put people at an advantage for sure! I think if you had 90 and someone else had 98 you would both be given an invite to the info session since it’s in the same gpa bracket so I’m guessing the same amount of points is given! At that point it may be the work/volunteer experience that sets them apart! I only had 86 in pre-cal 11 and English 12 and 90 in chem and 92 in bio! (I applied with the high school pre-reqs) I work as a residential care aide but have no volunteer hours. As for your experience, yes it is definitely at the competitive level! And don’t worry at all! We all know how stressful the process is. My best advice for you is to also do any little courses or programs you can! part of the additional forms besides your work/volunteer experience is any other experience/certificates you have. SPECO is a really good one it’s online and free. Yes I feel it does put people at an advantage for sure! 2. Thank you! Yes I’m stoked? it is stressful to get everything in on time for sure but you can do it!!! And yes admission is calculated by the UFV grading scale. I can’t find the link because I’m on my phone atm but, If you google “UFV grading scale excel” there will be a link that brings you to a gpa calculator on excel and it tells you how to calculate your gpa on their 4.33 scale. But yes a 90 and 100 are both seen as an A+ it explains it a bit better on the excel calculator on the second page ? it’s really helpful so let me know if you can’t find it and I will try and link it!
  3. I would send a max of two from the same place. Get one from someone higher up (that you know will give you a good reference) and one from a co-worker/volunteer ? As for your pre-reqs, I sent mine a day before the deadline? Just has to all be in before the deadline doesn’t matter when! Good luck!!
  4. @nay018 And CNC requires a fifth course (grade 12 only) so you can use math 12 for that?
  5. No problem!! No, I took pre-cal 11 and then foundations 12 ?
  6. No not at all! OC, UBC, VIU, CNC (both locations lol) and Coast Mountain College.
  7. Thank you! I had all A’s but pretty low A’s. 2 at 86% so just cutting it as an A lol. I have quite a few hours as a residential care aide so I think that helped me out getting an info session invite and then my essay and Interview I felt good about and I think that’s what got me the spot. I saw you said you were a care aide so that’s really good for the work experience part! I also had 86% in English, when you reapply just send in a copy of your transcript that isn’t electronically sent because it will blend with you provincial, that happened to me and I had to get my old school to send one by mail. As for your other courses, I found foundations 12 way easier than pre-cal 11, I took it when I wasn’t sure I’d get in this intake and it’s much much easier ? I hope that was helpful (sorry it’s so long lol) and good luck!! Grades aren’t everything if you do well with the essay and interview you have a really good shot at getting in. Just don’t give up, I got rejected by 6 schools for September, it’ll happen for you ?
  8. Sorry I didn't mean like right before the first day but anytime leading up to it! best of luck
  9. Yes 10! And they said before the interview that they usually always pull people from the waitlist either before the first day of school or after as there have been times where people don't even show
  10. Hey y'all!! Just got an email saying I got in ? so excited, I hope you all hear back soon!!
  11. Vancouver island uni, North island college, Selkirk, college of the Rockies are some I can think of, most of them have Casper as a pre-req but they require only pre-cal 11 and Chem 11 and bio 12 and English 12 like ufv (I’m pretty sure) there’s more but some of them require a math 12 and Chem 12. There’s also college of New Caledonia and coast mountain college but you need one more grade 12 course vs ufv but there is a variety in what they allow it isn’t just math and chem ? hope this helps!
  12. omg, how exciting congrats!!!
  13. Hey tbosman2000, I'm so sorry to hear ? I haven't heard back yet but with those high grades and volunteer hours, I would definitely recommend applying everywhere in BC that you can! Best of luck to you and don't give up!!
  14. I’m glad you all feel comfortable about it!! I feel good about mine too! I’m in the same boat, but I’m sure lots of people look back and think of things they would have added or said differently! They know we are put on the spot. Now the waiting game for us all lol
  15. Hey everyone! How’d your interviews go?! It was pretty awkward when there was time left over?
  16. Thank you for that info! Might be a dumb question but do you voice your response or write it?
  17. Congrats on all the invites!! ❤️ Honestly, this is such a nerve-wracking process, waiting for the info session invites, then the interview, then mid November for the final decision. This has definitely made me really anxious lol. Good luck everyone! and to those that haven't got an invite yet, don't stress! I bet more will go out tomorrow as the info sessions got sent out three different times ?
  18. no the four year BSN program!
  19. Hey everyone! Just got an invite for the interview! ?
  20. Ahh I see! Thanks for clarifying that, at the second info session they said that all invites would be sent out oct 18th so I’m sure there are more to come ❤️
  21. Congrats! ❤️ did they say at the LPN access info session that they would send them today? For the BSN they said all invites go out this Friday, but maybe their early? Lol
  22. Ugh neither do I ? Their selection process is interesting lol... I’m glad it’s only 4 points, but am also hoping they’re taking other things into account...at least we will know by the end of the week. Hang in there everyone!! ❤️
  23. Oh wow good odds y’all! Lol, today they said their aiming to invite like 65-70 something!
  24. Hey y’all!! Just out of curiousity, how many people were at the Monday session? There was only 28 today!
  25. I've been looking through the old forums for UFV and writing down the topics from the past info sessions and timing myself for 30 mins while I write out essays. It's made me feel little less stressed ?
