  1. Joined it! Congratulations everyone! Good luck to all the others!
  2. Just got an email! I got in!
  3. I got an invite to the interview as well (4 yr option)! Good luck to all the others!
  4. @KaitlynAndrews99 Thank you for the insight!
  5. Let’s hope interview invites get sent out soon! I find the hardest part of this whole process to be the waiting game. It’s got me feeling so anxious and on edge. Good luck to everyone!
  6. How does everyone feel about their essay? I doubt the two sessions had the same question, but did you walk out feeling confident?
  7. The info session was informative. As for the essay portion, don't over think it. Hopefully I did well and invites go out next week for the interview. Good luck to everyone!
  8. Out of curiosity, does anyone know how many people are invited to the information sessions versus the interviews? Moreover, my email to the information session said "Final selection for the Winter 2020 class will be made by" but after the end it was blank and had no date. Anyone get the same message or is the final decision date known?
  9. Hey @Bs2016, Welcome to the forum. It's my first time applying this year and wish you the best of luck. Any advice for the first timers? @Sta13, congratulations! Looking forward to meeting you on the seventh! @sp13, I wouldn't worry if I were you - atleast not yet anyways. Taking a glance at the previous forum pages, invites to the information sessions were sent over a one week period. Hopefully you'll hear back from them by Friday. You're grades seem amazing and I wish you the best of luck!
  10. They probably sent out a bunch of emails and forgot to attach it in the process. I've sent an email in already asking for it. If or when I get a response I'll let you know ?
  11. Hey ks199, Congrats for getting the invite to the information session! One step closer right - well sorta anyways. Thanks for sharing your sisters experience also. The email I got mentioned a health questionnaire but there were no attachments in the email. Did you get a health questionnaire? Look forward to seeing you in a few weeks. Good luck to all the others, I'm sure more emails are going to be sent on Monday. ? @tbosman2000 Hey there, noticed you browsing the forum and recognized your name for the Fall 2019 forum. Any advice for the essay or interview?
  12. I applied for the RN program (I’m not a LPN) ☺️
  13. Hey guys, I just got an invite to the info session on October 7th! I’m excited but nervous at the same time. Anyone else hear back about the information session? Any tips as to how to prepare? Thanks!
  14. Congratulations for making it to the info session! Just checked and no email yet, hopefully I'll receive one soon. When's your info session? Good luck and happy for you! ?
  15. Hey sta13, You don't need to create a myUFV account, it's already created. The username is the student ID # that's mentioned in the email stating your application (top right corner) is being reviewed and your password is the same one you use to access your application status. If you haven't changed your password yet, it would default to YYMMDD (your birthday). You can access your email through the myUFV portal or at https://mymail.ufv.ca/ . I imagine the info session email would be sent to the myUFV email address rather than your person. Either way, you can change your settings on your UFV email so all emails are also forwarded to your personal email - that way you can't miss it! Hopefully some of this info is helpful and you access your account soon. Goodluck! ?
  16. Hey sta13, I received the email on Tuesday also mentioning the application is being reviewed. Hopefully we hear back soon!
  17. Hey there, Question for all of you that have applied: when you look at the table (at the bottom of your application status) which states the requirements and notes, are the grades assigned beside the prerequisites your high school grades or the converted versions of the UFV grading scale? For example, you got 85% which is considered a B in high school, does the requirement show the letter grade B or the UFV grade scale mark of A? Thanks for checking! Simran ?
  18. I just learned they did the same for me. I was sitting at a 91 prior to the provincial and got bumped down to a 73 after the provincial ?. I called the office of the registrar and they stated they can only access the blended mark from the official transcript. Why even bother mentioning taking the higher of two marks if this is the case? So frustrating.
  19. Question: How did you check to see what mark they took?
  20. Call the office of the Registrar and clarify with them. They should have taken the higher of the two. Their phone line hours are nine to five, Monday to Friday.
  21. Hey sta13, As far as I know, UFV takes either your final English 12 mark or the blended English 12 and Provincial mark - whichever is higher. Here's what I copy and pasted from their site. "UFV does not require provincial examinations, but high school graduation requires provincial exams in some subjects. If you wrote provincial exams, the higher of your school mark or your blended grade (school mark and provincial exam mark combined) is used for GPA calculation. " Hope this helps!
  22. Hello, It's my first time applying to UFV Nursing but thus far I've been informed that the competitive average for the high school prerequisites is a minimum of three A's. The way I see it, I would prioritize getting in to the program over having an easier course load once I am in - no judgement though. A lot of universities have learning centers that provide help and you could reach out to them for help with math. Good luck!
  23. Hello, I'm also applying to the January 2020 intake for nursing. As for the prerequisites, I'm sitting at: Biol 12 - 96%Engl 12 - 91%Chem 11 - 93%Precal 11 - 89%Volunteer/work experience - I've been a Unit Coordinator at various ED departments in the lower mainland for the past four years I've bookmarked this forum and I'll keep checking in and updating the others if I hear back from UFV. Good luck!
