  1. Hi AliY! I’m currently in my second semester of the nursing program and happy to help ? I got all A’s except for Stats and Nutrition in which I got B’s. I had to take the TEAS and did well on those. Not sure if you have to take those for this round? Feel free to shoot me an email if it’s easier to communicate that way also! [email protected]
  2. Lol I have so many questions already!
  3. Has anyone else logged into Castlebranch yet and noticed all the due dates were from the last Fall cohort?
  4. Maybe we can ask the MEC Counselor how past cohorts stay connected too? Or how they organized their past FB pages
  5. I second the Mometrix study book!
  6. Congrats everyone! And thank you @KayDRN for starting this thread to keep us all updated throughout this process!
  7. As a side question, which I’m sure will be answered there, are there ways for students to get involved with the MEC Counseling Office? I have a few ideas I thought would be cool for the even newer cohorts coming in!
  8. Got it, will do! Already scheduled my MEC symposium for 11/22 lol hope to see you all there!
  9. Yeah what number did you call to reach someone? I only ever get the call center.
  10. I see, thank you for the clarification! So should I hold off on starting the tasks in the pdf attachment? I’m just so excited and want to get it all done!
  11. Via their FB So if we just got an acceptance email, is their a chance we didn’t actually get in?
  12. I’m still going through the pdf attachment and seeing what I can get done lol I think it was just the typo ??‍♀️
  13. Yeah I got the error email too, maybe because it said “Fall 2020” in a few spots instead of Spring 2020
  14. Yayyyy!!!!! I’m in!!!! Omg I can’t believe it!!!!
  15. Nothing yet ? checking at least every 5 mins lol
  16. Thank you so much for sharing all of this info, I’m really interested in doing the co-enrollment. So you’re able to do the BSN program over the summer too? I plan on going to an info on 11/7 too. I’m so relieved it’s not as competitive as their standard BSN program. I too have only CST and LIT left to be compete with their pre-reqs.
  17. For anyone who might not have Facebook, MEC just posted this a little while ago: “Nursing admissions decisions are being finalized. Please check you’re student emails regularly and get the checklist( listed in your acceptance email) items finished as soon as possible.”
  18. Lol yeah I have a feeling it’ll be a bit delayed. Someone asked on Facebook if there’s any update and they said none yet because they’re a bit behind. I’m still checking my email every 15 mins nevertheless ?
  19. Hi! I took the TEAS after only taking BIO 141 and I didn’t find it that bad. I think it depends on your science background too and what classes you took in high school. Here’s what I did to study: I bought the Mometrix TEAS study guide off Amazon for like $30 I think. Then I took one of the practice exams it comes with, just to gage where I was at and what I needed to focus one. Next, I watched all of the anatomy and physiology videos the Crash Course YouTube channel has and started studying sections from the Mometrix book that I knew I needed to work on. Then I took another practice exam to see how my score was and improved and kept studying until I felt confident. Definitely take at least BIO 141 before taking the TEAS though. There’s a calculator integrated into the math section too!
  20. Thank you again for the information! Is this the first semester there will be a traditional in person ASN program beginning in the Spring? I saw previously there had been a dynamic online/in person Spring co-hort.
  21. Just out of curiosity, will we all find out at the same time?
  22. As soon as I find out if I’m in the NOVA nursing program for Spring 2020, I’m going to apply for Mason’s co-enrollment program that begins Fall 2020. I, unfortunately, had too many transfer credits from my previous university to do the Advance program. I haven’t been able to talk to any students in the co-enrollment through NOVA/Mason and I’ve been wondering what the workload would be like?
  23. Thank you! This helps a lot, I have microbio and two mason core classes left so I’ll be taking them Spring/Summer to start Fall co-enrollment courses. Fingers crossed!
  24. Thanks! Yeah, I wasn’t really sure what microbio entailed so that actually really helps! I’m think leaning toward taking the online option in the Spring so I can meet the deadline to apply for GMU’s co-enrollment BSN program for the Fall, as long as all goes well! Lol fingers crossed! I’m already looking forward to Summer break ?
  25. Yes!!! I thought I was the only one lol I’ve been watching similar videos, how to study, medical terminology etc. lol! Do you still have to take microbiology? I’m thinking about taking it in the Spring (our first semester) but idk if it’ll be too overwhelming.
