@Dylan Wildman dang! Way to rock it. I was below that so who knows. Someone else mentioned they got WJ email stating they were waitlisted. Haven’t had a chance to check my email, but suppose I should. Thanks for the information and congrats again!

@Dylan Wildman congrats! If you don’t mind my asking what did you score on the rubric?
  3. JenSande replied to Ddestiny's topic in LPN to RN
@nurse397 Congrats! I haven’t heard anything yet. That makes me a little nervous since I’m in state and you aren’t. Mail should have been here by now if they were all sent at the same time. @janelane213 @Dylan Wildman @ThomasP have any of you heard anything back?

@nurse397 Prereqs the only prereqs they look at are A & P, Eng Comp I, Psychology, H G & D, Sociology/Nutrition, Public Speaking, Pathophysiology, and Microbiology. If you have a 3.45 in those and an 84 on Kaplan I’d bet your chances are pretty good. Don’t stress the wait. It’s that way for all the Kansas programs. They never admit until the application period is closed.

@nurse397 I honestly thought the writing was the most difficult and the science was one of the easier sections. Apparently I just confused myself because everyone else seems to agree the science was the worst. I wouldn’t stress about an 84 overall. If you’ve got good grades in the prereq courses I think you’re in good shape. I also don’t think it matters if you’re in state or out of state. Points are assigned purely on prereq grades and Kaplan scores.

@janelane213 no, I don’t have any further info. I think that all we can do at this point is cross our fingers and wait it out!

@janelane213 I have no idea what the average Kaplan score for Hutch is. I just know everything I’ve found online says upper 70’s is considered solid. Also, considering the cutoff is 69 that seems reasonable, but again, this is all speculation. I think I heard somewhere that notifications normally come out late October, but I’m not 100% on that. I am sure we’ll have a wait though.

@janelane213 Total 35. I am not sure if there is a preference for KS students or not since there aren’t points awarded for local residency.

@janelane213 I completed my LPN at Johnson County Community College and currently live in Lawrence. Are you a Hutch local? Where did you do your LPN? My email is [email protected].

@janelane213 I scored a 78 overall. My gut reaction was panic, but again, from everything I’ve read upper 70’s are usually consider good. I can’t promise that holds true at Hutch, but it resembles my experience with the entrance exam for my LPN program.

@janelane213 I would not worry about your score. From everything I’ve found an 81% overall is a great score. Seems anything in the upper 70’s should be good and 90’s are uncommon. I scored a 78 overall so hope this is true! I do remember applying for my LPN program and thinking my test scores were terrible and then finding out that I was well above the national average. I think the Kaplan May be the same. Can you pm me a copy of the rubric? I didn’t ask for one and I hate to bother Becky again. Curious how points are awarded.

I’m in the same boat. I just spoke with Becky and I don’t know how many total have applied, but she said she’d received over 100 in the last week alone. It’s nerve racking knowing so many are applying for so few spots. Out of curiosity, do you know how the scoring system for applications work? I totally forgot to ask.
