  1. Hello everyone! As the title states I start nursing school in Late January! I will be a part of the Spring 2020 Cohort at AACC. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to prepare myself. Are there certain things I should refresh my memory on from school? Any advice is appreciated! Thank you so much!!!?
  2. Hey Kendra! I am a tech who transferred from a telemetry unit to the ICU within the last 6 months! Hannah gave very good advice! You will see so many machines and do not be afraid to ask questions and LEARN! Always ask for help! If you are uncomfortable or experiencing something new, VOICE IT! My first time proning a patient i made sure the team knew i was new to this and needed explaining and guidance. Everyone made sure to explain to me exactly what we were doing. Always be aware of any tubes and lines! In the ICU patients can get super cluttered with lines running all over the place so make sure when turning you try to stay aware of everything!
  3. Hey there, I am aware of the schooling and what’s required. I just am not sure if there’s different routes or if they want me going straight for my BSN. thank you
  4. Hello all! I am looking into joining the Navy as a nurse. I have two routes I can take. 1. Accepted into a BSN and apply while completing my BSN. 2. Wait until I complete my BSN then apply. Background: My boyfriend is active duty Navy and brought the officer program to my attention. I have been a CNA on a telemetry unit for a year and some months now and plan to transfer down to ICU sometime within the next month. I want to join the nursing corp because I really would love to travel and aid other countries with humanitarian aid. I applied to an ADN program and find out August 1st if I am accepted. If I take the BSN route I would need to complete a chemistry class with a lab and I am ready to apply having completed all of the prereqs aside from that. Any advice would be awesome and greatly appreciated! If you happen to know someone in the Navy Nursing Corp and they would be willing to chat that would also be appreciated! Thank you so much!
  5. I am in a very similar boat as you! I plan to join as part of the Navy Nurse Corp but am looking for more information on it. Hope you get some helpful replies on here that may even help me!
