  1. I'm fairly certain that I've seen people apply and get invited to interview with a 3.0, but I'd say that your TEAS needs to be very strong. I don't think my GPA is super strong, but I got invited for an interview. If you have the time, money, and you're concerned about it, I'd probably recommend taking a few fluffer online classes at a community college and acing those to bump it up a bit. It doesn't seem like there are many hard and fast rules for who they do and don't accept as long as you meet the base requirements. I hope that helps. Good luck!!
  2. Made one! https://www.facebook.com/groups/499372357530409/ ?
  3. Hey All! I made a Facebook Group. I'm not 100% sure on how they work, but I think if you find the group you can request entrance to it. If that doesn't work, shoot me a message on FB and I'll add you manually. ?https://www.facebook.com/groups/499372357530409/
  4. I was told at the informational session to wait until someone talked to us directly about it, which I'm assuming they'll do after or during the interview. They said to wait since some of them expire and some are expensive and insurance might not cover it.
  5. Congratulations to everyone! I got an invite as well, last name starts with an S. I'm so excited to meet all of you!
  6. Hey All! I hope y'all had a great holiday weekend! I'm just curious if anyone has heard anything else yet.
  7. At least we're all in the same boat! I submitted July 2nd and my last name begins with 'S'. I'm not sure how many of the previous cohorts got confirmations that their applications were received. I think someone said that the only email they got was the invite to interview, and those didn't start going out until mid-September.
  8. All I got was confirmation from NursingCAS that my application had been submitted and my coursework verified. Did everyone get confirmation from U of H?
  9. That's awesome! I haven't gotten anything yet, but it's a good sign that they're sending stuff out!
  10. Hey everyone! I know it's a little early to be wondering, but does anyone know if we'll get notification that U of H has received our applications?
  11. Last day to submit your applications for the Spring 2020 UH 2nd Degree BSN program! Make sure all your 'i's are dotted and all your 't's crossed. Also- keep in mind that CAS operates on a different time zone than Texas, so don't wait until midnight. Good luck everyone!
  12. Hey there Rachan- I'm not sure of the specifics because I've only really looked in to the BSN program, but there are informational sessions you can go to where they'll break it down for you further. Here's the link for the website with the MSN specific requirements: UH MSN Requirements
  13. I did both- but I'm paranoid about it. Make sure if you upload it to CAS that you're uploading the detailed report and not just the overall summary. The report you upload should have the breakdown of how you did in each section. It should be several pages long. ?
  14. I wouldn't rag too much on your stats! You and I are about in the same boat there (your GPA is better than mine tho, haha!). Also- based on everything I've heard, stats are nice, but aren't the end all in regards to acceptance/interview. Good luck!!
  15. Unfortunately, we don't, and they were pretty adamant at the informational session that we DON'T call to check on them. They said that if you were having trouble, you can physically mail them in. They also said that if they're still missing it and you've made it through the interview or whatever, they'll just ask for another one. If you got a confirmation page from you fax, they said to hang on to that as proof that you sent it.
  16. @TheRealSyd I just stalked the heck out of y'all's thread from last year, haha! I've been trying to track the TEAS scores and GPAs of those who were accepted vs. rejected. I've been working so hard to enter this program, and now that I've submitted my application, all I can do is sit and worry about it all, lol! @UHCON2019 & TheRealSyd, According to Mrs. Medina, they've already received around 1,500 applications for the 2020 cohort. Do you happen to know how many applications were received for your cycle? And, if so, about how many were rejected out of hand for not meeting application requirements? Additionally, have y'all been able to find any commonalities between those who were rejected vs. accepted? Like work experience, multiple languages, volunteer work, GPAs, TEAS scores? I really appreciate any info y'all can share!
  17. Hey There Futurenurse! Just to confirm what the prior student said, the vaccinations DO NOT need to be completed prior to the application deadline. At the informational session I went to last Friday, they advised that you wait until you get accepted and hear back from an adviser. Apparently some of them are only good for a year, so if you get them too soon, they'll expire. I hope that helps!
  18. Is anyone attending the informational session being held tomorrow? I know it won't make a difference now that I've submitted my application, but I'm still going to go.
  19. I totally agree. The NursingCAS people have been super helpful and incredibly responsive any time I've needed help from them.
  20. I've heard that they do look at candidates as a whole. In the informational sessions I've been to, many of the people had mixed backgrounds that weren't necessarily in any medical or even a scientific field. I've also heard that there's a large variety of GPAs that are accepted too. I'm so anxious to hear back, but I'm trying not to fret about it. Is anyone going to the upcoming informational session?
  21. Is mostly everyone in your program from the medical field?
  22. Do you know what kinds of TEAS scores and GPAs people who got accepted had or the general class size vs how many applied? I assume they're not JUST looking at GPAs, but I'm just fretting about acceptance. Also- if you could tell your past self any advice about the program in order to be prepared, what would it be? What do you think has been the thing that prepared you the most for it, and what has been the hardest part? Thank you so much for your willingness to let us pepper you with questions!!
  23. That's awesome! I have many questions! Are you in the accelerated program? When did you hear back about your application? How are you liking the program?
  24. Hey Everyone! I just applied to TWU (the actual school, not through NCAS). Can anyone give me a heads up on how long it took before you knew if you were accepted into the school? The deadline for CAS is coming up quickly, and even though mine is almost done, the last several questions require a TWU ID number. Thank you!!
