  1. Thanks to both of you for the input! Unfortunately the program I'm looking at does require that all pre-reqs be completed by the application deadline. Since I struggle with Algebra, I'm going to take just Algebra this fall, English II as an accelerated class spring '20, Micro during the regular spring '20 semester, and Physical Science during summer '20. Appreciate y'all!
  2. Hi Coco1320, thank you so much for your reply! The community college I'm taking prereqs at does offer English Comp 2 as an accelerated course, so it would only take half the semester. I may opt to take both English and Algebra this fall and the other two courses in the Spring if I decide I can't manage all four at once. Grateful for your input.
  3. Dear allnurses community, I am applying to an accelerated BSN program and have been working on prereqs. Now I've completed all but the following four prerequisites: - English Composition 2 (3 credits) - Physical Science (3 credits, no lab - I'm going to take Physical Geology) - College Algebra (3 credits) - Microbiology (3 credits, no lab) I work full time as a PreK teacher and need to continue to work full time while doing prerequisites. I hear it is best to work as little as possible while in nursing school, so I'm prepared for the possibility that I will be living on very little money while in school. As a teacher, I live on a low salary and don't have much saved. Here's my questions: (1) Do I register for all four of the remaining prereq's I have for this fall's semester, so that I can apply by January 15th 2020 for the Fall 2020 accelerated BSN program? Or, do I wait to apply in January 2021 for the Fall 2021 program? (2) Did you work while in nursing school? How did you make ends meet? (3) If I end up waiting till Fall 2021 to start nursing school, what do you suggest I do in the mean time to start prepping for nursing school? I am so excited to be getting close to being able to apply that I want to just go for it and knock out the rest of my prereqs this fall. I don't want to wait till Fall 2021 to start nursing school! On the other hand, I don't want to hastily complete my prereqs and end up getting lower grades / spreading myself too thin. What do y'all think? Thanks!
