Dear allnurses community, I am applying to an accelerated BSN program and have been working on prereqs. Now I've completed all but the following four prerequisites: - English Composition 2 (3 credits) - Physical Science (3 credits, no lab - I'm going to take Physical Geology) - College Algebra (3 credits) - Microbiology (3 credits, no lab) I work full time as a PreK teacher and need to continue to work full time while doing prerequisites. I hear it is best to work as little as possible while in nursing school, so I'm prepared for the possibility that I will be living on very little money while in school. As a teacher, I live on a low salary and don't have much saved. Here's my questions: (1) Do I register for all four of the remaining prereq's I have for this fall's semester, so that I can apply by January 15th 2020 for the Fall 2020 accelerated BSN program? Or, do I wait to apply in January 2021 for the Fall 2021 program? (2) Did you work while in nursing school? How did you make ends meet? (3) If I end up waiting till Fall 2021 to start nursing school, what do you suggest I do in the mean time to start prepping for nursing school? I am so excited to be getting close to being able to apply that I want to just go for it and knock out the rest of my prereqs this fall. I don't want to wait till Fall 2021 to start nursing school! On the other hand, I don't want to hastily complete my prereqs and end up getting lower grades / spreading myself too thin. What do y'all think? Thanks!
