  1. I recently finished nursing school and began working a couple months ago. I'm already wanting to specialize, and nursing informatics is something I've been wondering about for awhile. I know, from the minute I finished school, I don't want to do bedside nursing for the rest of my career. I think NI is an exciting career, and something I would find even more fulfilling. Its also very interesting after reading up on some posts, and gathering from what I've learned so far, there are quite a few routes in entering and excelling in NI. I'm an LPN, so first step would probably be to obtain my BsN, then I'd be more capable to progress from there, I guess? BUT, what can I do in the meantime? I've been considering taking some computer science courses, maybe even go get a certificate, don't know. Any ideas? What else would be an asset to have? (Besides having a Masters in NI....cause that's way down the line for me). The waitlist for the Advanced Entry to RN program at my school is about 3-5 years unfortunately... Any suggestions on what resources I can access (courses and textbooks are the only things I can think of, but anything else would be great!)? I've been reading forums and reddit posts all around, but I think most are from the states, others I can't tell. Its hard to pick and choose what information would be more applicable to my situation as a Canadian LPN. Any insight would be appreciated, thank you.
