Accelerated BSN- Keiser University- Ft Lauderdale - Fall 2019
Hi it’s going great so far. Like any nursing school it has its pros and cons, but overall I’m happy with it. My instructors are all great, my clinicals have been at a great hospital on awesome units, and the course load is heavy but doable. First semester was six classes, but it’s reasonably paced and nearly impossible to procrastinate. I don’t return till next week but to my knowledge everyone passed the first semester in my cohort. If you have any more specific questions I can certainly try to answer them for you.

Nursing school schedules/insiders
There’s plenty to apply for, I’ve recently started filling them out so hopefully I get some to help but I also get almost full pell which helps a bit. For private school BSNs though it’s significantly cheaper since Keiser charges per semester not per credit hour. Oh, and it’s 6 classes the first semester. 21 credit hours total. The next three are 4 classes but from what I’ve heard from other students it doesn’t necessarily get “less intense” with there being less classes.

Nursing school schedules/insiders
I’m starting the ABSN at Keiser on the 3rd. The schedule is crazy busy - five days a week, with clinicals starting the fifth week from 6:30 to 7 pm one day per week. I have a friend at Nova who likes it and it’s definitely not as intense. Both are very expensive though so I’d personally suggest going a public route if at all possible. I like Keiser and the director at my campus is great which I think helps provide us with great clinical sites but man is it expensive.

Accelerated BSN- Keiser University- Ft Lauderdale - Fall 2019
I would finish your prereqs elsewhere then apply. I applied for fall 2019 at the Sarasota campus in April and was in the middle of my last prereqs my community college and was able to get in the fall ABSN cohort no problem. Waiting is better than spending an extra 10k on a degree. They are very expensive.

Hep B vaccine requirement.
Thanks for the info! So I wait on my titer results before starting the series? If it’s positive I don’t need the series, correct?

Hep B vaccine requirement.
Hi all! I start my ABSN program in a little over two weeks and I had a question on the Hep B vaccine. Was this not a childhood vaccine we had? My daughter had it (almost a year old) so I’m wondering why we are required to begin the series? I just had my physical/timers/drug testing done and hep b is one of the titers they are checking as well so I’m just wondering the reasoning. Thanks for any info!

Keiser ASN program
Hi I also went to SCF where I finished my AA. I was attempting to go to USF because I wanted to do a bachelors program but it was way to competitive to get in. I looked into Keiser in Sarasota because they have a fast track BSN which is full time for 16 months. They accepted all of my transfer credits from SCF with no issues. They have multiple options though for nursing programs however they are very expensive (over 9k a semester). To my knowledge, all of them are Monday through Friday and very strict on attendance. They have good clinical sites (Sarasota memorial, Lakewood ranch, All Children's) which tells you their students are well regarded because many other private schools in the area have poor clinical sites. I have an orientation this Friday but whatever questions you have I can help you cuz I was in your same place at SCF when trying to choose a nursing program route!
