The HESI is probably very similar to the test that your school requires. Like you said, it's a test full of NCLEX style questions and we MUST pass it in order to graduate. I know many people who are stuck without degrees and not able to take the NCLEX or get a RN job because of the HESI. I'm sooo worried and don't want that to be me! But, thanks everyone for your replies! I guess there is hope afterall! I'll def start those NCLEX review questions ASAP!

Hey everyone! My school requires that nursing students pass the HESI in order to graduate. Needless to say, many of us are in a panic. Although I have approx. a year before I take it (and the NCLEX), I realize how time seems to be flying by in nursing school and I want to be prepared. This coming year classes are going to be tougher and more time consuming. I do not want all those crazy, stressful tests to sneak up on me because, as we all know, things seem to have a way of doing that. Any suggestions for helpful HESI books or techniques that may help me to pass.....better yet GRADUATE?!?! Thanks!

Hi everyone! I must say that I am addicted to this site! I always see people getting and giving great advice so I figured I'd join in. I am in my last year of nursing and I am starting to think about what area I want to work in when I graduate. So, the problem is... I love working with children (Peds) and I love working in OB. I am not sure which one to pursue because I haven't really had a lot of experience with either of them. I was a teachers assistant for 3 years and my first major was Elementary Education so I obviously loovveee kids (whether it be in a pediatric environment or a nursery or NICU or with new moms and their newborns). I have been on a search for externships or any way to get a foot in the door to see if this may be for me but I can't seem to find one. Any tips on obtaining externships or NA jobs in an OB PP/MB/Nursery/NICU etc unit? Thanks!! Oh yeah...I'm in Philly :)
